I'm coming back with a vengeance people! I'm just trying to sort my blog out and get rid of the trash, sweep away the cobwebs and stuff. I've had a lot of requests on Twitter to get blogging again and the new followers I have had recently have asked why I don't blog anymore. Why don't I blog anymore? Because I am lazy, idle and downright stubborn at times.

I love to rant, and bitch and moan...I'm very opinionated. Some people just think that I need to keep my mouth firmly closed and to those people I tell to take a hike. (I'm starting to feel like Sue from Glee all of a sudden..lol)

Since my little hiatus from the blogging world, there's been several annoyances that have been bothering me. My main one is Paladin related. As you all well know, I play a Blood Elf Paladin on Cairne under the name of Melevelia. In the last few days, I finally got her dual spec and put my 2nd spec down as Holy cause I wanted to have a crack at healing with her. Last night, I finally got my last piece of heal gear for her (even though it's kinda patchworked with leather bracers and mail shoulders... >.>) and so to test out the gear and my spec, I pugged myself in for a regular UK run. I'm only 75 at the moment, and could probably manage Nexus too...but I'm not too sure of my capabilities right now. We managed to get through it with only one death, so for my first healing run on my Paladin- I wasn't too unhappy about that. My main problem was that I just kept running out of mana, and even with Seal of Wisdom up and judging Wisdom...I was getting nowhere. Maybe it's my spec but I couldn't see what was the problem there. I found it was relieved a little by using Divine Illumination and Divine Favor...but I'm so new to all of this that I really am blind and I don't have a clue what I'm doing. My mana pool currently sits around the 11k mark...and at lvl 75 I can't gem for intellect as of yet. And don't even get me started on AoE damage. I beacon'd the tank (and man when that procs, wooo that makes me fucking happy :D) but apart from that I was throwing FoL, HS and HL around like free candy. It was deja vu of me working over the Priest on her first heal runs. Honestly though, healing on a priest is like freaking childs play compared to a Pally. omfg...so goddamn scary xD

Emberstorm and the sucky Seattle datacenter...

Okay so as you all know, the majority of my toons are on Cairne-US...and that is part of the Emberstorm battlegroup. This battlegroup is on a set of servers called a datacenter which is out in Seattle, WA. Over the last six months, we've had nothing but issues with this because we constantly get outages, server maintenance and other kinds of issues besides. And frankly, we're friggin sick of it. So far, all we have had in return is one lousy free day for their cock-ups.

Hey Blizzard, I have an idea for you...move all the servers from the Seattle datacenter to some other state or city...then raze the piece of shit to the ground. Everyone from Emberstorm will come to Seattle and dance on the ashes in celebration of having servers that stay up when required.

Seriously? They need to give us the option of transferring out of the battlegroup to some other one so we don't have to constantly deal with this bullshit. I lose the majority of Tuesday's play time because of the time zone I live in...and now I lose Wednesday too? Ohh give me a fucking break! Servers came back up on time yesterday and all seemed well for a while, then it started getting real glitchy real fast. Taking five minutes to loot, 10 minutes stuck in a loading screen, 'Instance Not Found', 'You are not in a guild', 'That character is currently online', ETC....ETC....

What absolutely hogwash. Fix it Blizzard and burn Seattle Datacenter to the ground. Seriously, we'll pay you to do it ;)

I <3 My Alts

Recently, I'd become very disheartened with constantly playing my Priest. I really do like her a whole lot, and my Death Knight too...but both of them are about a year old now...and I've been very bored with doing the same dailies, the same raids, talking to the same people and quest givers. And we all know that the name of my blog is called 'Kill The Horde' and most people would assume that it would mean that I hate the Horde...right? WRONG. Oh how very wrong you are.

On the same server that I have all my Alliance toons, I also have three Hordies...a baby Rogue called Ambiance, a baby Warlock called Zynka and a mid-level Paladin called Melevelia. I love all three of them and it's my challenge to try and get my rogue levelled (since Pogue keeps saying how hard it's been for him to learn the class)...but right this moment, I'm very much in love with my Paladin. For me, it's like levelling Lysix all over again- but with healy capabilities. So I can run in, hack and slash...and when my health gets low I use either HL or LoH. Hehehehe, I rarely ever die and if I do..it's because I bit off more than I can chew and get my ass kicked. That happens occasionly with Lysix too. Melee toons are not my strong point, but I give it the old college try.

What's it like playing on the other side? Do I feel like a traitor? Um no not really, I really enjoy the freedom that comes with playing on a faction where barely anyone knows you. Since I've been playing Alliance on Cairne since the server opened, I know a good proportion of the server and a lot of them know me...so I don't get the chance to hide much. Playing Horde gives me that escapism, that anonymity. And I never liked Human Paladins anyway, as I said a couple of posts ago...I would rather gouge out my eyeballs with a rusty spoon than level in Elwynn Forest or Westfall....ugh. I really need to roll a toon to perform as my bank alt on the Horde side though, Mel is a miner and an enchanter, Zynka is a herbalist and an alchemist and Ambiance is a leatherworker and a skinner. So all those gathering professions mean that I've got to have a bank alt so I can sell the stuff I don't need, heh. And I have to start making some gold anyway, Paladin will be level 40 soon enough and I need gold to buy her mount training.

Those Who Think...Teach.

Have you ever been in a position of importance, a place where you can pass your knowledge onto others? Ever had people look up to you as you mould and encourage them?

I mean, I'm no teacher by any means...but that is what I do as a raid leader in my guild, For the Alliance. I've almost been in the guild a whole year now and during that time I've seen people come and go, people I've passed my wisdom onto and others that I have helped that are still in the guild...but rank above me now in ability. But I realised something today, as a teacher you never expect people to say thanks. I mean, it would be nice to know that they acknowledged you...but you never expect it. I've passed my knowledge onto many a Priest, a Death Knight and a Druid...and I know scraps on other classes also, and I never really get tired of doing it. It makes my heart swell to see a little baby 80 ding or come into the guild...and my chance to pass on tidbits of information, or make them armor (I actually love making armor for my guildies, it's always nice to see your name on something they're wearing). Then in a few months, they've exceeded my expectations and they move onto bigger and better things or maybe they'll stick around.

Sometimes though, I do feel a little under-appriciated and I wish that there was a 'Synysta/Lysix Appriciation Day', but then I just slap myself for having such a foolish thought and go back to whatever it was I was doing. I don't mind people surpassing me in gear or becoming a better player than me because I know at the end of the day, that I helped them to get there and that's really all I need.

4-6 Months....What do YOU Need to Complete?

And so, Gamestop.com has put the pre-order up on their online store for the pre-order of Cataclysm. And if you look back through the histories of the pre-order/release dates...the pre-orders usually pop up 4-6 months before the game is released:

Wrath of the Lich King: Pre-order Date: May 30, 2008; Release Date: November 11, 2008. 166 days between Pre-order Date and Release Date.
The Burning Crusade: Preorder Date: September 26, 2006; Release date: January 16, 2007. 122 days between Pre-order Date and Release Date.

Is there anything in the game that you feel that you need to finish up before the world gets blown to pieces? Myself personally...I really, really want to get finished up with my Burning Crusade reps. I love collecting things like tabards and mounts, so that's my objective now. I'd really like to have a crack at ICC too...but with only six months left of this expansion and still needing a full clear of Ulduar, I'd like to get that first. I'm also a bit of a title addict, so currently I'm working on my Shattered Sun title from the Isle of Quel'Danas. I'd also like 'Of the Nightfall' or hell, 'Twilight Vanquisher' would be pretty sweet too. Found out last night that I'm half way to getting my 'Conqueror of Ulduar' title also, so I'd like to see if I can finally crack that. I doubt it, but heck...worth a try- right?

Other than that, the other things I need to get done are:

Finish getting Lysix geared up.
Get another toon to 80 (probably the Paladin, I'm guessing)
Complete every dungeon at least once, if only for the achievement.
Help the guild finally getting a Naxx 25 clear (way overdue!)
Get 'Of the Nightfall' title for my Saturday raid group.
Become a better, calmer Raid Leader.
See at least one ICC boss.
Get to Exalted with Ashen Verdict.

Have to say I'm looking forward to all the new stuff in Cataclysm though. Worgens? Oh yes, definetely looking forward to that as I'm a big nerd over lore in this game and the Gilneas area has me completely and utterly intrigued, what exactly is behind that wall? What is the starting area going to look like and what is the starting quest chain going to be like? Hell, will all the starting quest chains be revamped for every race? The only reason I won't roll a Human is because of their starting area...I'd rather dig a rusty spoon into my eyeballs than level in Elwynn Forest or Westfall (Race change FTW!!) But have at it, leave me comments or hit me up on Twitter or Facebook...what are you looking forward to and what do you feel like you HAVE to complete? :)

Dramatics Ensue....STILL!

Day #2 of the drama-filled antics on Cairne. This time in my own guild. Saturdays (as I explained earlier) is my raid day and I get to pretty much fill it with whatever I'd like to do. I wanted to do ToC10 yesterday, but we didn't have the people to fill the raid. So I grabbed a bunch of the people who had recently dinged 80 and we all went on our merry way to Obsidian Sanctum. I wanted to do it with 1 drake up, but since I really didn't have the DPS for it...we just did a basic run through with all the drakes down. I thought that it would have been nice practice for the new guys on how to raid, what the loot rules are in the guild and how we work as a group. I liked my group that I got, and to be honest I really would like to keep those guys with me as a Saturday group. But that's for another post.

We marked up the trash (because I was asked to, so I did as I was asked) and we downed the first lot of trash. Then one of our tanks (who I won't call out but he knows who he is) decided he wasn't going to wait and decided that he wanted to be main tank and ran off to be all gung-ho and pull trash by himself. My main healer for the raid (who was a holy Priest) told him : "Look if you're going to go off and pull trash...then I'm not going to heal you." And so he didn't. The tank completely disrespected me as a tank and as a raid leader...talked over me and didn't wait for me to go first. I DON'T GIVE A SHIT if your gear is better than mine, I am the main tank because I am the raid leader and I say so.

So the off tank and the main healer got into a verbal scrap on vent, I told them both to chill out and be quiet. Off tank proceeds to throw a hissy fit, storm off and drop out of group. So in a pinch, I asked one of the DK's to jump into tank spec for me. Two DK's tanking FTW :D Aaislin (who I will mention because she's a sweetheart and a very good tank) jumped at the chance to tank her first raid as off tank and was absolutely amazing for a first try :)

And also props to Oopswrngbttn and Arraya who also were in OS as their first raid- you guys were absolutely amazing :) Moral of the story, don't be a jackass in raid and get too big for your boots because you think that your gear is better. As I've mentioned before Skill > Gearscore. I don't care if you have a 4200 GS (like Lysix) or a 5100 GS (like aforementioned offtank). My raid, my rules. Get that? ;)

Dramatic Encounters of the 3rd Kind

I've recently discovered why I cannot join any of the big raid guilds on Cairne...and why I have no interest in them. I used to be part of the raid guild elite, and part of me still stirs deep down inside of me...wanting the gear and to feel the adrenaline rush of downing the big bosses. But it's all gone. I'm on the wrong time zone to experience that ever again, unless I was to leave for another guild...and right now in my life, I just don't feel like I have the time nor the mental capabilities of doing so.

I was sitting around this morning, talking to a friend of mine who used to be in the same big raid guild as me when I used to play Lysix as my main, and he has since moved all his toons back to his own private guild. We were watching the chaotic havoc ensue in trade chat and it was like watching a train wreck...people sniping and bitching at one another...it was one big raid guild against the other. Okay, so whoo hoo...you down shit that I can't. You have better gear than me. You know what? I don't give a shit. I'd rather stay in For the Alliance with my friends, who are more like my family than my actual family is. I know that I don't raid on the same schedule as them, but I have it pretty nice here.

I'm a raid leader, I have the whole weekend to schedule stuff at my times and I can usually take whoever I like. That doesn't mean I'm elitist and I take the people with the best gear or the highest gearscore...I take the people I know have the talent and can follow directions. Ever tried to lead a raid where people don't listen? It's the most frustrating shit. And skill > gearscore any day of the week for me. I'm also an officer, so I usually get a say in important matters and I find that pretty cool. Not that I feel like I deserve it, because I really don't do a whole lot other than lead raids...but I'll take it.

We don't back bite, bitch, or scream at each other. Well, not to each others faces, lol. I like my guild, I know we're not the best and I'm pretty comfortable with my guildies...I like how they can come to me and talk to me anytime...I've always made myself pretty accessible no matter the time of day. I'll probably always threaten to leave and go to bigger guilds when I'm having a bad day or week...and people have probably stopped listening to my empty threats at this point, mainly because I really don't mean them and I'd regret it if I did end up leaving.

New Year, New Look

So I changed the colour of my blog again...and changed the header to update the look of my Priest- Synysta. The old picture still had the Draenei version of her...so obviously that needed to be changed. And I missed the black, so that had to come back :P

I'm also aware that my Priest is wearing the Tabard of Brute Force. I currently don't have the tabard, but I am working my way towards it. It's definetely one of my favourite tabards in the whole game.

I have a thing about tabards recently, I'm trying to get all the OL tabards before Cataclysm kicks in and stuff starts to go missing..because as of this moment, I'm kinda expecting every single quest to vanish and everything to get switched around and changed...so I'm not too sure what's going to happen with the Outland junk. I'm not even sure if it will get touched at all, because according to the trailer, only Azeroth will be destroyed. It doesn't mention anything about Outlands, but I'm expecting it..so if nothing changes, then more luck for me.

I've still gotta finish my Kurenai grind and get all my mounts from there. I'm also working on Sha'tari Skyguard also. Guh :/

And I Return!!

Apologies if you have missed my inane ramblings...the Christmas season was mental for me and I've been very busy. Still playing WoW to decompress, but no time for blogging...which I have to say was bumming me out. Ever gotten writers block? Yeah I had that for like two weeks straight and I was just so frustrated about it all.

Anyways, there's some huge changes in game for me. I got a race change on Fiorra, and since the race change facility comes with an optional name change...I also changed her name also. I miss somethings about the Draenei like 'Gift of the Naaru' and the hit racial bonus and the JC racial bonus. But man, being a Human is so nice for a priest. Spirit racial bonus, EMFH racial and the 10% rep racial bonus were all well worth it. It's taking a little while to get through my many friends on the server to make them all aware that I am still around, but I'm getting there. So say goodbye to Fiorra the Draenei Shadow Priest and hello to Synysta the Human Shadow Priest! :D

And also, hello to my 10,000 Honorable Kills Achievement! Can we say 'Ka-Ching?!' :D

Then last night, I rerolled my Warlock from Blood Elf to Undead. I'm kinda going back to my roots, I miss the Undead race and starting area. I levelled an Undead Warrior back in Vanilla WoW and I have to say that I had a huge craving for all things Undead and bony. And who doesn't love a Skeletal Horse? :D I had forgotten about 'Will of the Forsaken' racial, that could be quite nice in PvP. It looks like it's the Undead version of EMFH, which makes sense since the Undead used to be Human before the Plague and the Third War. I'm really eager to see what happens in Cataclysm, since now that Varimathras is missing from the side of Lady Sylvanas Windrunner and has been banished from the Undercity, along with his Patchwerk-esque minions. Will a separate faction be created? Will the Horde gain the Goblins but lose the Undead? And will the Blood Elves stick with the Horde?

Who the frick knows....

C'mon Blizzard stop this teasing crap. Give us some solid info on what's gonna happen other than the world will be wrecked and Deathwing wants to turn us all into pieces of toast!

Since I'm not gonna give away my closely guarded secrets to being a shadow priests, I figured that I would drop a few hints for any of the priests out there wanting to come over to the dark side :)

So here we go :)

1. You cannot get 4k dps with blues, it just doesn't work like that. Sadly, we have to have fairly respectable gear to get decent dps...

2. Do not get disheartened if you're getting whooped by a ret pally or a boomkin...or even a DK *grumble* ;) Blizzard has currently made Priests the laughing stock of the game in both dps and heals...and so, we just have to live with it. Try your best to stand toe to toe with them. It's all you can do. Cheat with Mind Sear if you have to.

3. Make sure you stack in the following order. Hit, spell power, crit, haste. Hit needs to be 12% if you spec into stats like Misery and Shadow Focus on your tree. 11% if you're a Draenei (like me). I am sadly over capped, so ugh. Spell power is very important, the more the better. Haste needs to be around the 300 mark. Crit, aim for about 15%. I like lots of spell power, lots of crit. I hit like a truck and dish out the damage...but it's honestly whatever is your pref.

4. Enchants...spell power wherever you can. Spell power and crit on both head and shoulders. Shoes go for either Tuskarr's Vitality, Icewalker or Greater Spirit. Pants get the Brilliant Spellthread from a tailor.

5. Gems. Again, best gem is the Runed Cardinal Ruby. But to get the socket bonuses, you'll need orange and purple gems. Best ones are Potent Ametrine and Purified Dreadstone. And always, always go with Chaotic Skyflare Diamond for the meta.

6. Figure out a rotation that fits YOU. I've tried lots of different rotations, but I find I get the best DPS with a rotation I made up myself. There really is no wrong rotation with shadow, just make sure you keep up your dots...because they're the bread and butter of being a shadow priest :)

7. Spec. I currently use a 13/0/58 spec, and you're free to look at it on the Armory. I like to spec into Improved Spirit Tap as it helps a lot with mana regen, but you'll see a lot of specs that frown upon this. Must haves you need are Shadow Focus, Misery, Shadow Power, Twisted Faith, Shadowform, Mind Melt and Shadow Weaving. If you miss any of those, you will be up shit creek without a paddle.

8. Don't compare your DPS to a mage or a warlock. We're a hybrid class, they are a pure dps class. They're supposed to have better dps than us.

9. Laugh at anyone who tells you that Priests can't dps.

10. Go out into the big wide World and kick ass! :D

World of Warcraft...Connecting people the world over!!

Have you ever stopped to think about all the people you know in game? Whether they be on your server, in your home town or whether it's just a random person who started following you on Twitter...the Internet really is a marvellous tool for connecting people.

In the last year, I've discovered not to judge people by the kind of character they may play in WoW. Stereotypically, healers are played by females and tanks are played by guys. That theory of mine has since been shot full of holes as I know some excellent healers played by the opposite sex...and my self? Well, I'm female and my Death Knight alt is a tank. People don't like to be pigeonholed or stereotyped. Is that why they set foot out of their comfort zones to play something not exactly expected of them? Do they enjoy a challenge? In my case, I actually enjoy tanking and healing with the favourite being healing. It's my personality I believe that dictates that, I'm a caring person by nature and feel it my calling in life to help and comfort people.

Sometimes, I am amazed at the lack of females playing this game...I've been playing since the beta and slowly, but surely the female population in the game has gotten larger. Guys I meet are still amazed at the fact that I am female when they hear my voice on Vent. A lot of the female toons are played by guys on my server, and I'm sure that stands on a lot of other servers too. But because there is this anonymity in WoW, people tend to just interact through the character and sometimes this is where RP comes into place. As people get to know each other, they become friends and play together more. Occasionaly they will chat to get to know each other better...sometimes leading to RL meetings. And when this occurs in two people of the opposite sex, relationships start. Whether that leads to a friends-only relationship or something more, it's sometimes nice to have guys watching your back in game.

On my server, there tends to be a lot of creepy dudes who hit on me for the pure fact that I have a British accent. That usually means that the guys fall into two camps, the 'Oh! She has an accent, and I'd like to be friends with her!' camp or the 'OMG, it's a girl. And she has an accent! I think I need to go jack off about this!" camp. UGH, I really hate the guys from the second camp and sadly a good 50% of the guys on Cairne fall into that camp. It's very annoying to be treated as a sex object just because you have an accent. It happened again last night while I was rep grinding on ICC trash, I spoke briefly and some guy was like "Ohhhh....an accent!" so that shut me up straight away. He proceeded to send me a whisper apologising if it sounded like he was being rude and I liked that. I don't tend to get apologetic whispers a lot. I was in there with my guild though, and I know those guys have my back if anyone gets too creepy cause they know how much I hate being singled out for having an accent.

I have met a lot of cool males on my server though that understand that I don't like having an accent on a US server because it tends to single me out. I'm in the understanding that I'm the only British female on Cairne...and if I'm not then the rest aren't as vocal as I am. But how important is it to actually physically make your presence known on a server? There are a lot of ways to communicate in game (chat, in-game mail, Vent, in-game voice) and as an Officer in my guild, I think of myself of a pretty vocal person. Think of the people who rely on the communication abilities in-game and treat this game as more of a social network like Facebook than a game. The people who meet others from the otherside of the world on their server, get to talking and become fast friends. Those in long-distance relationships and rely on the game to make cheap contact with their loved ones. How do they make their presence known on a game? Do they spend as much time together just to be with one another?

Think of those in the Military services this Christmas and how WoW may be their only connection with their loved ones back home and playing with them in game makes them feel like they're spending time with them...even as bombs are being blown up 10 miles down the road from them. The internet really is a marvellous invention, and WoW is just the piece of the puzzle that completes communication for so many people in the world.

The Music of WoW

Have you ever noticed that music in the World of Warcraft? I mean, REALLY listened to it? I am a huge fan of the music, I'm the kind of fan that actually owns the instrumental CD's and listens to them on a regular basis. Think of the hours that go into creating one piece of music, one score. The musicians required, the instruments that need to be cleaned, the hours of editing that are required after the musicians have all gone home and are drinking coffee by their fireplaces. The music is what makes the game in World of Warcraft. Where else can you hear such magnificent scores while playing such an immensely intense game?

I mean it's just mind boggling. And there are 30+ scores throughout the entire game, for all three expansions. With currently more being recorded as I type. The next time you're in game, give the music a listen. Hear the birds twittering in the trees out in Elwynn Forest. Listen to the dulcet overtones in Blackrock Depths. The sad, sorrow that engulfs an area like Tranquillien. Music is the most amazing thing. It can lift your mood, it can bring back memories. It can make you cry and it can make you laugh.

Or are you one of those people that when raiding likes to have their own soundtrack playing in the background? I personally, will listen to the game music while questing and just bumming around...but having music to listen to while raiding is a very important thing to me as it helps me to concentrate. Sometimes I wish that I didn't have to listen to Vent, because if there are too many people talking at the same time...I cannot focus and will fail miserably if I am healing. But that is a whole different topic and can wait till another time.

Winter Veil...and why it's a terribad holiday... >.>

So if you havn't been living under a rock, we have Winter Veil now to deal with in game. The Dwarves in Ironforge have been busy wrapping gifts for us all, making gingerbread cookies for Greatfather Winter and cleaning up all the reindeer poop lying around.

Remember, there's no presents to open until the 24th- so no throwing hissy fits in trade chat about how you can't get the gifts from under the tree!

Fiorra on the other hand, is trying to get her Merrymaker title and failing miserably. I cannot seem to find where to get the bombing achievement, HK's seem impossible in my battlegroup as there are no Wintervolt machines inside the battleground. (Have you ever tried PvP'ing as a healer? The Horde flock towards you with this ravenous look in their eyes like you're a tasty steak...) And the hat? HA. I've not even seen it drop yet, which is weird because it dropped a lot for me last year when I was running my druid. Have to say I like the Preserved Holly though, riding round on a reindeer is pretty win, in my book. Hopefully by the end of the holiday, I will have the title and I can rest again until the Elder festival...which is also half complete. Sigh.

Gearscore and why it means FUCK ALL!

WARNING: The following post is ranty in nature and may require your kids to leave the room due to bad language. Apologies in advance.

On my server, people have gotten it into their heads that Gearscore is the be all and end all of raiding progression. It's gone as far as people wanting a 4K gs for easy fights like Malygos and a full Naxx clear. 4k for Naxx? You're kidding me, right? Both Lysix and Fiorra first stepped into Naxx wearing greens and did just fine. The day I dinged 80 on Lysix, I was in Naxx that night wearing pretty much full greens and I was the OT. And guess what? I fucking kicked ass. I got geared up quick and was soon so geared that I couldn't get anything better till Ulduar was released.

Don't talk about Lysix's gear now, I know it's shit. I'm working on it, okay?

Fiorra's gear has always been very hit and miss, but since I levelled as a healer...I know what things I need to be doing and I've pretty much always been the same spec. My main spec is Shadow, but a lot of the time I do heal for my guild (and I've noticed that using the new LFG system gets me a group quicker if I heal). The other day I had a tank from another realm bitch me out because I was using an ilvl 200 trinket. I told him to bite me. Another told me "oh you have good gear, why the fuck can't you heal this?" (In reference to HHoR). Some dickwad tanks out there need to roll healers and then see how frickin hard of a heal that place is.

And to make it worse, some of my guildies believe that if you have a high gearscore- you must be a good player...WRONG. Let me tell you why I think that theory is a load of bullshit. We have a Hunter in the guild that goes by the name of Flintx. When I first came to the guild back at the beginning of 2009, Flintx was wearing mainly all blues and out-dps'ing us all. He still out-dps's us, and he's not the best geared Hunter in the guild. I out dps the best geared Hunter in the guild, and my gear really isn't all that great.

So yeah, don't let anyone push you around about your gearscore. I've seen people with low GS and high GS. As a good friend of mine told me once, "It's 50% gear, 50% skill". And I totally agree with him. Next PuG groups will require date of birth, drivers licence and blood sample. Fuck you assholes.

A Tale of Two Swords

I feel like I should explain myself a little better about Quel'Delar and Quel'Serrar. I made it sound like the latter just dropped from Onyxia...which the new version does...but the older, better sword of Quel'Serrar looked exactly the same as the new sword but with a really long quest chain.

Melevelia, my Undead Warrior on Arygos had this sword and it starts with a book called 'Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying'. This book would only drop for you if you were either a Paladin or a Warrior. The Alliance had it a little easier back at lvl 60 than the Horde did, because back then there were no Horde Paladins- as Burning Crusade had not been released yet. There was no Dark Portal or opening or fancy tabard for participating. No Blood Elves, no Draenei...no Outlands at all. It was all about Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Northrend was a place that we knew about, but had no access too. Arthas had already wreaked havoc and scarpered.

So Horde had Warriors to grab the sword and the Alliance had Warriors and Paladins. A little unfair, yes...but oh well. And since back then I was a Hordie, I had my little Warrior tank and I got this drop at 58. Back then, if a book dropped into your possession, you knew that something awesome was going to eventually come out of it. So I went through the motions of the quest, with the eventually end of having to taunt Onyxia out of hiding and slaughtering her. You had to bathe the blade in her blood and then return it to the quest giver- who would then give you Quel'Serrar.

Quel'Serrar was sadly taken out the game when Onyxia was revamped for the level 80's in the current day and also for the 5th Birthday of World of Warcraft. I loved the old lvl 60 version. I had completed it on many toons and to me she wasn't just a loot pinata. When the old Onyxia was removed from the game, all the quest chains went with her...Quel'Serrar, Lady Katrana Prestor, the King of Stormwind missing, the Hunter quest. Everything. It made me shed a tear for the game as for me that was a huge part. Wrath of the Lich King was released and all this was taken away. Lady Katrana Prestor and Highlord Fordragon used to flank the young king on the Stormwind throne and were advisors to the King. During the Scourge Invasion at the end of Burning Crusade, Lady Katrana was replaced by a Argent Healer. At Patch 3.0.2, the three characters had completely dissapeared and were replaced by King Varian Wrynn again. He appeared out of nowhere and there was no lore in place to mention how he had made his way back to Stormwind and where the heck Fordragon/Prestor had gone.

Now for those of you that don't know, Lady Katrana Prestor was a Human form of one of the Black Dragonflight- the Broodmother herself. Yes that's right- Onyxia. So I think that Blizzard just assumed that because we had killed Onyxia and bought the head back for the King...that Lady Katrana Prestor should just dissapear. Don't get me wrong, I understand that some people just don't care about the story, but I do.

So Onyxia is dead and all that fun stuff. But then Blizzard mess it all up and bring Onyxia back. No story to explain why she has risen from the dead, and a new version of Quel'Serrar is one of the items that drops from the new Onyxia...Burnished Quel'Serrar. It's nice to see that they paid homage to the sword, but I do believe that Onyxia should have just stayed as it was.

And lets not forget about the epic quest chain we had to do to be attuned to actually kill Onyxia in the first place! Holy crap! xD

Now, Quel'Delar is the sister blade of Quel'Serrah. It is a prismatic sword forged by the Night Elves and the five dragonflights: Blue, Red, Black, Bronze and Green. After it's creation, it was handed down to the Quel'Dorai and was passed down the elven families until one day it was famously wielded by Thalorian Dawnseeker against the Scourge, while defending the Eversong Woods and Silvermoon from the attack of Arthas. He sadly fell to Frostmourne, like so many others and Arthas proceeded to have a party at the Sunwell where he drew much of his power from to defeat the last of the Sin'Dorai defending the area. Those who survived the attack, fled the area and settled wherever they would not be publicly outed for losing to Arthas. Quel'Delar was bought to Icecrown by Blood Queen Lana'thel, who intended the instrument to be a weapon of vengeance. She made her way to Icecrown, along with Illidan and Kael'thas to destroy the Scourge, only for the three of them to meet their sad fates. (You can find Illidan in Black Temple, Kael'thas in Sunwell and Lana'thel in Icecrown Citadel) . Lana'thel swung Quel'Delar at Arthas when she found him, in anger over the many people lost back home...but Frostmourne overwhelmed her and took her soul to serve Arthas in death. Now she lives as an undead Blood Queen, in service to the San'layn as their queen. Everytime she looked at Quel'Delar, anger would overcome her and eventually she just had enough. Lana'thel let out a scream that could be heard for miles around and Quel'Delar broke into a thousand pieces, flying to every corner of the world.

And you find the battered hilt in Icecrown Citadel. Aren't you lucky? :)

So if you are lucky enough to be winning the roll on a Battered Hilt from the new Heroic 5mans inside Icecrown Citadel, and you're wondering what on earth it gets you...read on.

Quel'Delar, the Sister Blade is the twin blade to Quel'Serrar- which as you should know by now comes from Onyxia. Quel'Delar is forged by the night elves and the dragonflight, and serves as a weapon to quell the Scourge in Icecrown. After you pick up the Battered Hilt, you will go through a quest chain to get the sword. If your chosen race is unable to use swords (Priests, Druids, Shamans), you can turn it in for a mace that is more appealing to your race/spec. Myself? I am after both the sword and the mace. There's sadly no tanking version on Quel'Delar, but there is a pretty nice DPS 2H, and since Lysix is a Frost 2H DK tank....I want Quel'Delar, Might of the Faithful. For Fiorra, she is a Priest- which means she cannot wield a sword...so I will trade the sword in for the mace. The mace is called Hammer of the Purified Flame and I'm gonna team it up with the Shriveled Heart from Heroic Halls of Reflection. Am I sure that I want to carry around a decomposing heart in my bags? Not really, but the stats on it are pretty nice :)

There's also a 2H DPS mace for druids and shaman, a 1H sword for rogues and hunters, a 2H sword for whoever could use it (maybe a Hunter), 1H DPS mace for rogues and a 1H caster sword for Mages, Warlocks and Holy Paladins. You can see more about the history of Quel'Delar and also the stats for the other weapons here at WoWWiki. So have at it, see if you can win the roll for a Battered Hilt of your own and see which sword/mace you can get. By the way, the sword or mace can only be obtained once per character. So for those dual-specced people out there like Lysix and Fiorra- make your choice carefully :)

Shiny New Purples

So since the new LFG system went live as of the 3.3 Patch, yesterday I decided to give it a try...as I blogged about beforehand. But after I had wrote that post yesterday, I thought that I would give the new 5mans a try. I thought that I might have been a little bit out of my depths for them, but you never know how they're going to be if you don't at least give them a shot, right? I mean I was dragged into HToC kicking and screaming, and now that I can heal that place with my eyes closed.

So first off we have Forge of Souls. Each other the three dungeons are actually pretty short, so that's really nice for people who hate the longer instances like Oculus and Nexus. FoS pretty much went without a hitch for me, we took out the 1st boss and then sadly the rogue in the party DC'd and never came back. So we all voted to kick him, and we replaced him with a pally. Things continued as such and we got through it- with me winning a new cloth robe off the last boss- Mord'rethar Robes.

Onto the Pit of Saron, after completing the quest with Jaina of course. PoS is tricky in the sense that both the 2nd and the 3rd fights require you to always keep moving. I'm not looking to learning those fights on Lysix, as I'm not very good at the whole kiting thing. On Fiorra it was okay though, thank God for spells like Circle of Healing and Renew....cause if I was Disc...I'd have been freaking out. All these dungeons require some kind of an AOE healer because there's a lot of raid damage that's getting tossed about. So 2nd boss drops Braid of Salt and Fire and I know I can use that to replace the 226 belt on my dps set. So we slug on, going through the epic trash gauntlet up to boss #3...which proves to be a cakewalk compared to the last boss. Engraved Gargoyle Femur drops and I cannot believe how lucky I am getting today.

Onto the third and final dungeon, Halls of Reflection. Wow, this one I never made it to the end on...but I have to say that it's like VH....on crack.....with a bottle rocket jammed up it's ass. Fucking hell. We made it through the 1st boss and Bracer of Worn Molars drop for me. I'm starting to think that Lady Luck is very much shining down on me this week with the amount of new loot I've gotten. I was still wearing 200 bracers on my dps set, so to go from 200 to 232 is HUGE.

Anyways, I'm off to see if I can pug another group for HoR and see if I can finally complete it this time. Wish me luck!! :D

3.3 and the new LFG tool :D

So this morning I got the chance to experience the new LFG tool and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! I have to give props to all the people from the Emberstorm battleground that I have met today as everyone has been really quite lovely to run with. It gets boring you know, running with the same people...day in day out. And I don't mind pugging...just hate pugging with the people on my server, as a good 50% of them are assholes. I live on one of the worst servers ever for trying to get anything done. If you like questing and levelling, then Cairne is perfect for you. If like me, you like to raid and PvP...then run away...quick. We're sadly one of the least-progressed US realms and our battleground is always frickin crashing (stupid Seattle datacenter!)

But I am very happy with this new pugging system. No more standing around in Dalaran with the age-old "LFM need 2 DPS" or whatever you may be looking for. I do think it's sad that they no longer have the raids in the LFG tool, I was looking forward to actually clearing ToC...because I've not been able to find a pug yet that can clear that place...and that's just plain sad. I've only so far been using the system on Fiorra, but I'm also gonna try it on Lysix so I can get her some gear too. And hopefully I can use it on my non-lvl 80 toons, such as my mage so I can level her up through the dungeon system. Fingers crossed!

It's beginning to look a lot like....Winter Veil!

Woooo and my favourite in-game holiday is upon us once again. This will be Fiorra's 1st birthday as I rolled her on December 31st (I was sick, could not go out for NYE so stayed home and started a new toon) and it's been a long year, with a lot of in-game and RL drama over the last 12 months for me.

Unlike the real holiday season, there will be no dashing round like headless chickens, fighting with soccer moms over gifts or feeling guilty about anything that may pass your lips. I, myself finished the last of my Christmas shopping this afternoon. As much as I love a good fight with other shoppers (I will punch you in the face if you take the gift I'm looking at!), I'm just not in the mood for it this year so total hours spent shopping for gifts this year? Two. That makes me happy because now it's before the 10th, there is another 15 days till Christmas and I can sit back and laugh at the retards who wait till Christmas Eve to go out and fight with the other retards.

So what will we get under the holiday tree in Ironforge this year? Last two years have been some kind of a mechanical pet/toy (I'm hoping for another pet this year), so will it be something mechanically-based again? We shall have to wait and see in another five days. I'll be going for the Merrymaker meta achievement, since I only half finished it last year...so should only take me a few hours to complete it on Fiorra. I just hope we don't get a mass of retards sitting on top of the tree, while mounted on the biggest mount they can find (i.e....the flipping Mammoths), blocking the rest of us from getting our gifts from under the tree. Was it called the holiday tree or the giving tree? I forget.

Anyways! So those of you who still need the achievement- get your Santa hats at the ready, dust off your sexy Santa suits and let's celebrate the season! Now, who has a bottle of vodka for me? :D

Priests and their Bodyguards

As you well know, my main is Fiorra...and she's a Shadow Priest. I am a clothie and very proud of that (Mages and Warlocks, keep your filthy paws off my shiny purples!) I stand at the back of the room with the ranged and the healers (unless I am playing Holy Priest for the guild...then I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to keep people alive). I melt faces and crush souls. I'm the girl you don't want to take home to meet your Mom.

So why at Level 55 did I decide to roll a Death Knight alt? Well, like most clothies...we need a bodyguard. Or an alter-ego. Lysix for me is very much my alter-ego as she is:

A tank
A plate wearer
A bad ass

Fiorra is the nicey-nice little Draenei who started off as a Holy Priest, and has recently found her darkside since getting to 80 and loving it. The Light be dammed! Lysix on the other hand does not take no for an answer, kicks some serious ass, punts Gnomes and slaughters Horde. Why do I need these two characters? Well, IRL I actually suffer with a condition called Bipolar Disorder...so these toons are like a representation of myself. You take the good with the bad...right? That and I was sick to the back teeth of getting my ass pwned constantly being a levelling clothie.

If I had the monetary abilities, I would dual-box my toons and constantly have Fiorra and Lysix travelling round as a pack...both helping each other out. Lysix has sadly been put on the back burner for a little bit while I tried to get Fiorra all geared out, but come 3.3 I'm going back to playing her for a while so I can get her looking all billy bad-ass again. I know that on the eve of Wrath of the Lich King, it was very cliche to have a Death Knight as an alt...purely because every person and their dog had one. I, myself am very proud to have a fairly geared Death Knight as I enjoy playing her and it gives me a break from healing or standing in the back of the room.

Getting all up in the enemies faces is the best feeling. Run in, use your taunts and whatever else you have and pwn them good. It really is a refreshing change from Fiorra!

Patch 3.3 and How Does It Affect Us?

So I decided that I was going to write a long-overdue post about Patch 3.3. For those of you who havn't been living in a box in a small cave somewhere...Patch 3.3 is when we finally get to see the inside of Icecrown Citadel...and possibly get to kill Arthas.

What does this mean for Shadow Priests? In some ways it's a pretty good thing. Haste is getting scaled with DoT's (Vampiric Embrace, Devouring Plague). But wait! I didn't include Shadow Word: Pain in that list? Um...yeah. That's my little sticking point. Blizzard decided that SW:P was too OP with Haste scaling, so they decided not to include it in the buffs. Hey! Who threw that at my head?! It's not my fault they took it out, don't attack the messenger!

So what does this mean? Uh....that my friends is another nerf to Shadow Priest DPS. Even before the Haste scaling makes it to the live realms, we get a nerf on the PTR. Talk about locking the gate after the horse has bolted. Hey Blizzard? Do you see those people changing their mains to another class? Um yeah you're pissing off the Shadow Priests. Quit it already, go nerf the Warlocks some more. Or...I have a better idea! Go hit the Paladins around with the nerf bat some more...they REALLY like it!

I was just reading through my past posts, and it appears that I have complained about this Haste scaling bullshit before. Wow, this just proves how fired up I am about this crap. Lets talk about our other spells. Mind Flay still appears to be doing it's job, as is Mind Sear. Mmm, sear sear sear...ooh I am top of the DPS meters with 7k DPS! xD /dance Mind Sear's range has been increased to 30yds from 20 yds though...and the Glyph of Mind Flay increases the damage on the target by 10% when the target is affected by SW:P.

Sigh. Hopefully the haste scaling on our other two DoT's will make up for this. I should really go and get on the PTR and report back on my findings :/

Tier 10 is also bumming me out slightly as we have a spell in our tree called Twisted Faith, and basically the more spirit we stack, the more sp we get back in return....just like Holy Priests. And in 3.3 we will need Haste and Spirit. So WTF is up with the massive amounts of crit on our gear? And where is the spirit? Wow, Blizzard you let us down again. I love the graphical styling of the T10 gear for priests, but stats wise it looks like I will be sticking with my T9 gear for a while longer. I want to to go bitchslap a Pally. Time for some PvP me thinks :(

Priest Columnist....me?

Thanks to Matt at World of Matticus, both and and Lodur posted about the Priest columnist position opening at Wow.com. I've always been a huge fan and admirer of the people who tirelessly write for that site and I'm not the best Priest on the planet but I do know a lot about the class...so I decided to shoot my application in. I love writing and I always wanted to write for a living, so maybe this will be a step in the right direction. Now of course there is no saying I'm actually going to get the position, but since it will be a paid position....I thought that I would give it a shot. Since Fiorra is actually a shadow priest, and Shadow Priesting gets a lot of negative feedback and not a lot gets wrote about it on any of the bigger blogs...Holy and Discipline gets a lot of the spotlight from us.

So it's time to get Fiorra's gear into action and time for me to start rolling main spec Shadow gear so I can get geared up and be uber cool, lol. Seriously, I think that I may be out of my depth applying for this since I'm not in any of the big guilds on my server like Havoc. But as Pogue told me last night, "If you never apply, you will never get the chance and you will regret the chance passing you by."

What does a Priest do when they are AFB (Away From Blog)? Well, first off I will apologize for the lack of updates recently. It’s been a little tough on me because I moved home to the UK and the whole time zone shift has made it very hard to do much of anything in the game. Cairne is a US server, so I’m six hours ahead of everyone else…which means that when my guild is raiding, I’m usually heading off to bed. We were supposed to run a ToC10 last night, but I was tired and it turned out that we had a lack of people willing to participate.

So apologies for the lack of Fiorra rantings. Although, if you follow me on Twitter…you will see that I’ve been happily rabbiting away on there for most of the day. I’m hoping to get a new cellphone for Christmas, so beware…because the Twittering is only gonna get worse if I can tweet on the go…heh.

Since I pretty much lost everything (thank you George Bush!) over the last year other than my laptop and my clothes…I’ve been job hunting a lot and attempting to rebuy everything I used to own. I’m also finding it very hard to buy my WoW time as the stupid prepaid cards out here only work for the EU accounts, not the US ones. So…job hunting + having no money + not sure if I can even continue to play WoW = a very miserable Fiorra. 3.3 is due to be released any day now, and I’m just hoping that I have enough time to get both Lysix and Fiorra a full set of T9 before my account expires at the end of this month. It will be tight for time, but I honestly think that I might be able to pull it off.

The other thing is that during my time I have been in the game, I’ve been doing a lot of guild maintenance….like cleaning out the guild vault, talking to other guildies and trying to build the guild up in the guild vault so we can buy another tab for the bank. Sadly, the only raiding I’ve been doing is the pug variety….since my time schedules clash so badly with my guilds. And those have been failing. Pugging on my realm has always been a miserable business, so many of them fail and you just get into the mindset where you just don’t want to bother anymore. 3.3 also brings along the new LFG tool, so hopefully by getting into other realm pugs…I will have a lot more luck trying to get my gear/achs. And the Perky Pug!! Oh! For so long I’ve wanted a dog as a pet (my favourite pets have always been my cat collection) and come 3.3...I will get my wish!

I’ve also been thinking about a server transfer for a while. Cairne is really starting to irritate me with it’s attitude (not my guild because I do love you guys like my own family!). It’s the people outside of my guild who are driving me nuts. Old enemies of mine are starting to creep back out of the woodwork, and to be perfectly honest….I’m so past all of that. I don’t wanna go back to that point in my WoW history again. And rolling on another server is something I’ve been doing randomly for a while, just so I can get a feel for how other realms compare with my home realm of Cairne. I’ve still got my old toons on my old home realm- Arygos (Normal)….and I went back there for the first time last night, and boy it’s nothing like I remember. All the funny, classy people had gone…transferred off the server….poof. I’ve got random toons on Winterhoof (RPPvP) and Zul’Jin (Normal) too…it may come down to if I ever have the money…I may just transfer Lysix and Fiorra off to one of those realms. Am I sure I want to do this? No not entirely as I would miss the many friends I’ve made over my two years on Cairne…(I started on Cairne when it was a new server back in March 2008...and it’s coming up for it’s 2nd birthday next year) ….but I am starting to feel like it may be time for a fresh start somewhere else. So before everyone in my guild freaks out about me leaving…no I’m not going anywhere for the time being. It’s all just a thought process at the moment.

Benediction

So I saw a priest blogger mention this staff a few weeks back, but I seriously want one. It's no use to me at my level, but it's considered such an epic piece of Priest gear that I just have to attempt to get one. It requires doing stupid stuff like going into MC and defeating some boss in there (pretty sure it's not Ragnaros) and all other kinds of other twiddly, silly things.

It's a level 60 staff called Benediction. If you click on it, it changes into another staff called Anathema...it was supposed to be one staff for Holy Priests and another for Shadow Priests. It is still a very viable staff for a Level 60 priest, and will supposedly last you well into Level 70. Keeping a staff for 10 levels? Wow, nice. I just wish that I had found out about this staff when I actually was Level 60...and not being far OP for the quest chain now at Level 80.

Still want one bad...they're just so cool looking. If the warlocks get a heirloom modelled after a Level 60 piece of Dungeon Set 1...then us Priests want a heirloom modelled after Benediction. I deem it so :P

So excuse me a second while I just go and /dance off in the corner here, but this morning I opened Wow.com to find new about a new drake in the game when 3.3 comes out. No one has any set details as of yet, but it's looking like an achievement drake that you will get as a reward for completing all the IC meta achievement. Kinda like the Ulduar/Naxx drakes. I'm still kinda miffed that they took the Naxx drakes out of the game so soon, I really liked those. The Ulduar drakes are sexy too, but I can't seem to get a single achievement out of that place for the meta. I've gotten a few of the achs, sure...but none that count towards the meta- bah.

I like this mount though, always was a huge fan of the Gladiator's Frost Wyrm from PvP. Only two people on Cairne have that mount and it looks really awesome. Fiorra would look sick riding on one of those. And I'd love to have the IC looky-likey, but I'm gonna have to work my ass off getting my gear into shape. And it probably won't be pugged for a while, unless I can get in on a cross-faction pug after the LFG system goes live in 3.3. Hey, now there's an idea...

Shadow DPS...and Fiorra's Lack of Heals

As you well know, Fiorra is a discipline priest. Have you any clue on how I came around to that? Well, as any good spriest knows, we've been getting the crap nerfed out of the shadow dps spec for quite some time now and I'd finally had enough of being Blizzard's whipping boy...so I caved and went to heals. Since I levelled for 75 levels (!) as a Holy Priest, I wasn't going there again. And I spoke to other Priestly friends on Cairne, and I soon discovered that there was a lack of Discipline Priests on the server. It was very hard for me to give up my Shadow Priest role, but I was sick of having lacklustre dps...so from the dark side I was persuaded.

That was six months ago. I went Discipline and have fully enjoyed my time as a healy priest, but supposedly there are some lovely buffs for Shadow Priests coming along in the wind...so there is a huge chance that I will go back to being the sole Shadow Priest in For the Alliance. And come 3.3, a full set of T9 gear will be easy peasy to get. I'm not expecting to leave healing just yet though, this is all on the PTR and already we have recieved one nerf to SW:P so I'm just expecting us to come out at the bottom again, just where Blizzard wants us to be.

We'll never be able to compete with the pure dps (huntards, mages, locks, rogues), but we'd like to at least be on the same level as the rest of the hybrids (DK's, druids, pallies, warriors, shamans). Instead, we're right at the bottom of the dps when it comes to raids...Blizzard please stop turning us into Warlocks and hitting us with the nerf bat constantly. I don't give a shit about making it fair or being on a level par with every other class....for once...JUST ONCE! Could we please be OP? We're not even any good at healing anymore, we get pwned by shamans and druids for raid heals and slaughtered by pallies for single target heals.

I rolled Fiorra because I wanted a healer...and Priests are supposed to be the best in the game...not the worst! Hello, Earth to Blizzard? Did you forget that we're Priests? We're supposed to be the archetypal healers of the game, not the raid bitch that only gets used for Replenishment and PW:S. Gah.

Mohawk Grenade!

OMFG the funniest thing is happening in game coming this Christmas! A new tv slot is being put out by Blizzard and it shows the Night Elf Mohawk back...and putting the a new item in game. Come this holiday season, we are going to be able to use something called the 'Mohawk Grenade' and you'll be able to throw it at other people to turn them in a Night Elf Mohawk...AKA the WoW version of Mr T. Hehehehe....omfg, classic. Cannot wait :D

AHHH! So excited today! Just a very, very short post but I signed onto my blog this afternoon to check whether I had any comments that needed to be published/deleted or otherwise. And there was the surprise I'd been waiting to lift me out of my dreary day....my lovely, lovely boyfriend Poguemahon had left me a comment on my blog...so HA! to all you naysayers who have ever commented and told me he doesn't exist.

Mage-Centric...Beware!

So as you know, I have a mage. Or should I say...I did. I was finally frustrated enough with my mage that I deleted her. I hate humans....I hate how they run, jump and seem to be way more squishy than any other class. So I came to a crossroads and had to make a decision...pay out $25 to get her a race change...or just delete and reroll. Hmm. I was bored out of my mind and didn't want to wait till Cataclysm to roll a Night Elf Mage...and so rerolled Amaraie as a Draenei (yes another one!)

And so far, so good. It's been very productive rolling her as draenei, as things like Gift of the Naaru are a frickin god-send for levelling, I barely die. And before I knew it, DING! I was lvl 20....just like that. I'm really enjoying her, far more than I ever did with my human mage. And she no longer looks like me, so that is definetely a plus. Dinged 21 last night while levelling in Darkshire, and will continue there today. I also think that levelling must be easier for me because I have three heirlooms; Dignified Headmaster's Charge, Tattered Dreadmist Mantle and Tattered Dreadmist Robe . Sure, I look like a warlock with all this gear on....ha, but I'm better...I'm a mage! :P I do love how all the heirloom gear is all based on the old lvl 60 tier gear. Like my cloth gear is based off the lvl 60 Dungeon blues set. My boyfriend Pogue, has the heirloom shoulders on his hunter...and they're exactly the same as the tier 3 hunter shoulders :)

What is the name, class, and spec of your primary healer? Fiorra, Draenei Discipline Priest
What is your primary group healing environment? (i.e. raids, pvp, 5 mans) I will heal pretty much whatever I'm needed for. I mainly heal in 10 man raids though, and as one of the main healers.
What is your favorite healing spell for your class and why? Penance. Love the bursty healing, always good for spiky tank damage. Oh and coupled with Divine Aegis, it's just goddamn sexy.
What healing spell do you use least for your class and why? Greater Heal. Too frickin slow to cast, the tank could be dead by the time it's cast and I don't stack in haste.
What do you feel is the biggest strength of your healing class and why? Speed and damage protection. Everyone loves the Discipline Priest for their bubbles and mitigation.
What do you feel is the biggest weakness of your healing class and why? Lack of big, fast heals. We have Greater Heal, but it's slow as fuck. We need something with the speed of Penance and the quantity of Greater Heal. Oooh but then we'd get called OP. Sigh.
In a 25 man raiding environment, what do you feel, in general, is the best healing assignment for you? Since I am for the majority of the time the person that gives out the healing assignments, I usually put myself on the tank that has the best mitigation so I don't have to freak out too much when they die. That way, I can keep an eye on the other healers too.
What healing class do you enjoy healing with most and why? Druids. I love their HoT's and watching a tree eat? Ha! Best thing ever, it honestly looks like their giggling! (Am not biased cause Poguemahon is a tree....no, not in the slightest....lol)
What healing class do you enjoy healing with least and why? Shamans. Bloody chain heal makes me stand around and twiddle my thumbs looking stupid. I do love Heroism though...heh.
What is your worst habit as a healer? Using Penance just so I can proc Divine Aegis on the tank....I like watching the spell cast and then proc in a pretty bubble. I'm a girl through and through...lol.
What is your biggest pet peeve in a group environment while healing? People not waiting for the healer or casters to get their mana bars up. I really hate it when the tank thinks it's fun to pull the whole room and then bitch at me because I was eating strudel in the corner. Asswipe, see if I heal your ass next time.
Do you feel that your class/spec is well balanced with other healers for PvE healing? I do believe so yes, but I just wish that we could have more healy throughput like a pally....nothing seems to outheal those dudes.
What tools do you use to evaluate your own performance as a healer? I was recently introduced to World of Logs by Lodur from WoM and it's pretty much been my tool ever since. I don't trust Recount as it doesn't show absorbs unless you have the addon.
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about your healing class? That we can't raid heal. Yes we sure can, we just aren't very good at it. But everyone loves bubbles right? Nothing better than casting Prayer of Mending and watching it proc 10 times to see half the raid encased in a bubble. Heh :D
What do you feel is the most difficult thing for new healers of your class to learn? That they need to stack two things and two things only...Crit and Intellect. Spirit is pretty useless for a Disc Priest, yet I still see some out there stacking in it. You are not a Resto Druid!
If someone were to try to evaluate your performance as a healer via recount, what sort of patterns would they see (i.e. lots of overhealing, low healing output, etc)? Low healing output. Recount doesn't count Absorbs by all my pretty bubbles, and I've been kicked from pug raids for it. Absolutely stupid.
Haste or Crit and why? I stack crit like a monster. Divine Aegis is my best friend :D
What healing class do you feel you understand least? Resto Shammies and Holy Paladins. I have one of each though and am working hard to resolve my lack of knowledge.
What add-ons or macros do you use, if any, to aid you in healing? Pitbull for unit frames, VuhDo for raid healing, Grid to see the rest of the raid so I don't have Pitbull stacked all over my screen and Mik's Scrolling Battletext.
Do you strive primarily for balance between your healing stats, or do you stack some much higher than others, and why? As I said before, I'm a huge crit monster...but I also stack pretty high in intellect for faster mana regen and a bigger mana pool. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get more spell power on my gear though.

How much loot is Too Much?

So we yet again attempted Naxx 25 as a guild. We went into the Construct Quarter and we had a few teething problems with Patchwerk, but got him down. Then two shotted Grobbulus and two shotted Gluth. By that time, people in the guild were calling it quits for the night- as it was 11pm server by that time and people had to be up for work/kids/school in the morning.

I honestly don't need anything from Naxx 25 other than a healy wand...and one dropped tonight that had a nice amount of crit on which would have been a very nice piece for me instead of using my dps shadow spec ilvl 245 wand. So this wand drops and 4 people roll on it- myself, the other Disc priest in the guild Aur (who is my buddy, we Priesties stick together!) a Mage and a Warlock. The Warlock (aka as my good bud Desdemonisis) rolled highest on it, but she had won shoulders earlier on in the quarter...so I had to tell her that I had to stick to the loot rules of the guild (which is whether it is Naxx or Ulduar- it is one win per quarter so everyone gets a shot at loot). Aur rolled a 5, I also rolled a 5 (frickin bad Disc priest luck!) and the Mage rolled an 88....so I passed the wand to him. This was the point where the Warlock had not been made aware of the raiding loot rules within the guild...so I calmly explained them to her and Drale backed me up on it. It made me feel a little shitty that I couldn't give her the wand- even though I do like her and I do think she is a good player...but when it comes to loot, you cannot let feelings and personal relationships with the guild come into effect. If that was the case, I would be passing all leather rogue crap to my other half Poguemahon (who has bringing his rogue alt along recently to get him geared up).

I think that the guild loot rules are pretty fair, and I really do appriciate that the guys in the guild trust me enough to not ninja the loot or to just give it away to my friends. Especially in 25's....in 10's I'll relax it a little, especially if we are taking a bunch of people who don't really need the gear. Sometimes we can carry someone along to take all the loot and we just DE the rest for the guild vault. But tonight, about half the raid actually did need loot so I was very happy to have them along for the trip as I bloody hate passing loot off to be DE'd. I will say it is very nice to have more DE'ers in the guild...we went through a dry spell for a while and almost levelled up Enchanting myself. Glad I took Engineering though, happy to drop bots for the raid :D

On the Flip Side...

I was reading a post over at WoM this morning and it was a little odd to read because as much as Matt may believe that he is so huge that the rest of the WoW blogging community doesn't tag him anymore....he is so far off base.

And it reminds me of how my guild reacts towards myself and my blog about the game and themselves. I love blogging, writing about the game is a huge stress relief for me and I find it to be very enjoyable. I've been told by a few people in my guild that they believe me to be some kind of knowledgable person because I do a lot of reading about various classes, but I don't ever want them to think or believe that they are below me as a player.

I've been trying to prove that to them recently, by helping Xalacone run the Naxx raids to help the little guys in the guild get geared up. Yes, yes I am fully aware that ilvl 200 gear really isn't all that much anymore....but where some of the bigger guilds on Cairne are running their lowbies and alts through Ulduar 10 to get their gear, we are still doing the Naxx 10 thing....because of two reasons- 1. It's content we can easily clear and we have had on farm for a while now. And 2. I know all the fights in Naxx backwards and inside out, so being a raid leader is easy for me in Naxx.

I do love running Ulduar, there is still a fair amount of gear in there for me that I need and so far as a guild we have only cleared up to Hodir. And we need to keep pushing through, but to help us push on we need the lowbies and the alts geared so we don't keep taking the same 15 people through Ulduar 10 constantly.

I do wish that we wern't so slow in getting people geared up though....a lot of the guild, including myself are on the Ulduar 25/ToC 10 level and I seriously, seriously need a new weapon. It's kinda starting to suck, but I am glad to see the classes we need getting gear now...including the other priests in the guild getting the gear- instead of me all the time.

Boys and Alcohol

Alcohol does the strangest things to the guys on Cairne. I've got toons on two other servers, Lightninghoof and Arygos....and I swear that those realms are not party realms like Cairne is. Like in my guild for example: I love the guys in my guild like my own family, but boy oh boy...can they put the beer away! My boyfriend Pogue likes his vodka, and on a Friday/Saturday raiding night, he can easily finish off half a bottle of the stuff.

I have another friend of mine on the server in another guild, and he's well known across the server for getting totally blotto and having conversations about politics while drunk. He's also the only guy on Cairne I know who has a mini fridge and a microwave by his computer, I think he survives off a diet of Hot Pockets and beer...sigh. He also likes to flirt with me when he's drunk, which he knows I hate because I have Pogue and he has a girlfriend...I tell him all the time that one day he's gonna piss off some female and get virtually bitchslapped.

I on the other hand, don't really drink at all. I was a chronic alcoholic in my early 20s and saw the error of my ways, so stopped....I have no clue what a nutcase I would be if I tried to drink while leading a raid. My guild find me hard enough to deal with at times when I've drank too much coffee or eaten too much candy....

An Ode to Female Raid Leading

This post is for all you female raid leaders out there, because like myself...I know you exist and you do a great job doing it :)

We lead raids a little different to guys, we delegate jobs to people and we call 'mercy' when we're down and out. We're fair, just and listen when raid members have problems. We're the mother hens of the raid leading.

But just because we are pretty nice, doesn't mean we're pushovers and take crap lightly. Some of the best raid leaders I've seen were females and they had the personality of a guy. And then there's been the girly types who bat their eyelashes at the raid and has them twisted around her little finger.

But whatever kind of raid leader you are, whether you wear skirts or pants, play Horde or Alliance....I raise my glass to you! Here's to hanging with the boys and beating them at their own game! Cheers! :D

Ever Doubted Yourself?

So yesterday we ran Heroic ToC, with Pogue on one of his lowers. He has a shadow priest called Slaintemhath and he still needs a little bit of gear for him before he is ready to run him through some raids. So it's me on heals, him on DPS and I forget the rest of the group. But it was a pretty easy run...a little hairy to heal through at times with the Paletress as the second boss, but all in all...not bad. I have a new heal rotation though so maybe that is helping me out.

Power Word: Shield>Prayer of Mending>Renew

...to start with. Then since I've usually got the tank in focus, I just keep throwing Penance down on him, followed by more Renew...and maybe even a PW:S and a PoM if they're off CD. Then since I have VuhDo....I watch the rest of my group carefully, throwing Flash Heals out like candy. And if it's group wide damage, throw out Prayer of Healing...which I try not do too often as it eats my mana pool like Pacman. And possibly even a hastened Greater Heal if it's really needed. I try not to use GH unless desperate though....definitely one of my 'Oh Shit!' buttons.

I just realise that I gave away my heal rotation to the rest of the guild. LOL...since I'm feeling generous, and you're wondering how I managed to pull almost 7k DPS on Ony last night...here's my DPS rotation.

Vampiric Touch>Shadow Word: Pain>Mind Blast>Devouring Plague>Shadow Word: Death>Mind Flayx2....and then hit MB again.

Rinse and repeat...keeping up them DoT's all the time. Oh and on the whelps, use Mind Sear like candy. That's how I got those numbers....shhhh, it's a secret xD

Last night was fun, I got to play Shadow Priest instead of Discipline Priest....it felt like old times again, watching those crits bouncing around the screen and even the Holy Pally in the guild thanked me for Replenishment (Vampiric Touch- thankyou!!). My numbers were absolutely staggering, and I'm laughing at this because on single target I'm lucky if I break 3.5k....but on AoE multiple targets (the whelps) I got as high as 7k at one point. At that point I think I either passed out with shock or went to the kitchen to celebrate with a beer :) I'm still wearing T7.5 gear on my shadow spec, I've been gearing up the heal gear more...so with some sick T9 gear what kind of numbers will I be pulling? :D

Omg there's some really nice buffs to Shadow DPS on the PTR. I went back to healing because Blizzard nerfed Shadow DPS so bad, and obviously they got sick of the shadow priests bitching up a storm so now we're actually getting buffed. Does this mean I can actually go back to DPS again? :D

Glyph of Mind Flay now Increases the damage done by your Mind Flay spell by 10% when your target is afflicted with Shadow Word:Pain
Glyph of Shadow Word:Pain changed to- The periodic damage of your Shadow Word: Pain spell restores 1% of your base mana.
Glyph of Shadow now increases your spell power by 30% of your spirit for 10 sec (Up from 10%)
Improved Devouring Plague: This spell now deals 10/20/30% of it's total periodic effect instantly, up from 5/10/15%
Shadowform: This talent now causes Devouring Plague, Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch to benefit haste. Both the period length and the duration of these spells will be reduced by haste. In addition, the mana cost has been reduced by 32% to 13% of base mana.
Vampiric Embrace: This ability now provides a 30-minute buff that cannot be dispelled, instead of a target debuff.

Levelling Professions

So recently, I decided that I was horribly bored with one of my professions. I was in need of something to do other than filling my day with random heroics and saving for badges I no longer needed. (Although I guess I could save them for my off spec and start improving that gear again...sigh)

I had started to level my cooking, but that was starting to get tedious and I'd done it once before. I hate levelling through the old world, I just want to speed level past it and get into Outlands so it's a little more interesting. I do both fishing dailies everyday, the one in Dalaran and the one just outside of Shattrath. And fish that I was fishing up in the Outlands I was putting into my bank to save so I can use them for levelling my cooking when I got that high (I have no clue what my cooking is at the moment- so don't ask :p)

And so I was stuck with the major decision of which profession do I drop? At that point I had both Inscription and Tailoring, and they had both served me well....but I was starting to hate Inscription. I didn't have a herbalist and so trying to farm mats for the profession was impossible and I constantly had to buy from the AH. And making the cards for Greatness decks was a mission unto itself. The only good thing that came with being a Grand Master Scribe was the shoulder enchants...and boy were those sweet. But....even with them being the best in the game, I knew that I could get shoulder enchants from Sons of Hodir and I would just have to grind the rep to get them. And there was no way in a gazillion years I would ever drop Tailoring. The awesome leg enchants, the cloak enchants that really are 'Tailoring-Only' and the mounts....oh how I love to ride round on my flying carpets! So I dropped Inscription.

And took up Engineering. Now some people I have talked to about this have cringed at me taking up this...and some people are very encouraging. The main engineer in the guild Drale gave me some good tips for levelling and so far it's been pretty smooth sailing. I've had the profession about 24hrs now and I've already levelled it up to 200....I'm pretty happy with that. Getting to make the Exploding Sheep gave me a good chuckle for about five minutes though. I am deciding to go with Gnomish Engineering though, the whole bombs and explosives thing doesn't really appeal to me and I prefer the junky toys of the Gnomes (besides! Gnomes are darn cute and loveable! Stinky icky Goblins....ick!) I'm farming the mats for it on Lysix, so that tends to help out my costs a bit. Although I did buy about 100 Bronze Bars from the AH last night cause I was too lazy to go out and farm tin and copper to make them xD

Tier 10!!! Wooot!

So I have not seen how the Tier 10 gear looks yet, but the bonuses for each class have been released...and holy hell it's some good stuff :) So first up...Death Knight. Lysix is still wearing her poor tier 7.5 gear, which I still think looks bad ass compared to some of the later tiers (the shoulders on the tier 9 gear are nice, just wish they didn't look the same as the pally and warrior plate!) I'm gonna start working on her gear again soon, maybe if they didn't make me constantly work on Fiorra's gear...I'd actually have time to do it. But anyhoo, set bonuses.

Death Knight tanking bonuses:

2 Piece bonus: Increases the damage done by your Death and Decay by 20%
4 Piece bonus: When you activate Blood Tap, you gain 12% damage reduction from all attacks for 10 seconds.

Mmm....omfg sexy. The first one is huge for Lysix, because in my rotation D&D is one of the first things I use to grab the aggro. And I used Blood Tap a lot too to increase my parry chances as I am specced into it on my tanking spec in the Blood tree. Very, very nice. Makes up huge for the crappy bonuses we got on the Tier 8 gear and all the nerf batting we've been recieving recently. These set bonuses actually make me want to get my whole set of Tier 9 now so I can take her into Icecrown and get her tanking some stuff again. I love tanking so much and these bonuses actually make it viable again.

Okay, next up we'll look at the priest Tier 10 bonuses. Set bonuses on the Priest gear for the longest time have always been dedicated to people who want to spec Holy as a healer- which sadly does not work for me at all, as Fiorra is a discipline Priest. And to begin with, I was very disappointed with the Tier 10 bonuses as it looked like they were catering towards the Holy priests all over again. But then they got changed...and now the set bonuses are like a Discipline Priest's wet dream:

2 Piece bonus- Your Flash Heal critical strikes cause the target to heal for 25% of the healed amount over 9 seconds.
4 Piece bonus- Your Circle of Healing and Penance spells have a 20% chance to cause your next Flash Heal within 6 sec to reset the cooldown on your Circle of Healing and Penance spells.

*wibble* Critical strike, Penance and Flash Heal all mentioned in the bonuses?! Hehehehee, Blizzard I fucking love you. Thankyou so much for convincing me to go Discipline- I will never ever go back to being a Holy priest. You just made this priest a very, very happy camper. Now I actually might stand a chance of outhealing Drale the holy pally in my guild...wooot!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Okay, so I didn't post yesterday because it was my birthday!! Wooooooot! (Or as Des and Chuck say, "Let's hear a Woot Woot!) I didn't do anything out of game that kept me occupied, because it was a Thursday and most of my friends had to be up for work the next day. But I'm going out with some friends tonight and I have a feeling that this weekend is gonna be a bit nuts. I may not have the time to really play WoW- which is okay with me because it's not gonna feel too bad. It's time for Fiorra to let her hair down for a bit- I can't be a raid leader all the time, even we need to have time to act stupid and get drunk on our birthdays!

In game though I got literally showered with gifts and attention, it really was the coolest thing and I felt so special :) Everytime another one of my friends or guildies got online, they were sending me stuff in the mail or handing me stuff in a trade. All in all, yesterday I recieved:

Yes, you read that right...I got Cord of the White Dawn! Okay, okay so I got it made for myself, but my guildies Desdemonisis, Slaintemhath, Yotuu, Matdapus all helped me to get the 20 Moonshroud I needed by using their tailoring cooldowns. Bigchuck also helped me out by buying another 7 Moonshroud for me. And so by the end of yesterday, I had all my moonshroud and all my Runed Orbs. I called on a friend of mine, Mulachi and he had one of his guildies- Tamalyn (which is one of the BEST disc priests on Cairne!) make the belt for me. The same person is also going to make me the Savior's Slippers- which my Runed Orbs are now being saved for- so on goes the Moonshroud hoarding...ack.

Some of the visitors to my blog are Hordies, you know my mortal enemy and yadda yadda yadda. I have a Horde too- Melevelia (Belf Ret Pally) so I know how the game works. Some people take it too far and won't talk to people who play Alliance toons...I personally find that to be a bit childish and unnecessary. I'll talk to anyone, I know a few people in my city who play Horde and I'll still talk to them- what Faction you play has no bearing on you as a person in my honest opinion.

And then there's some people who will not visit my blog because 1. I'm Alliance and they're Horde. or 2. It's called 'Kill The Horde' and it tends to scare the non-Ally folk away. When I originally started this blog, I was huge into PvP and I still am in a small way...but not so much anymore, it's more about my toons and raiding now. I'd really like to get the name of my blog changed to something more neutral...but I don't want to start from scratch when I've been writing here for almost an entire year. I'm also looking into getting the design of it changed, I want something clean and smart...but again, I can't seem to find anything on the Interwebz.

So I would just like to say for the record that I love all my Horde fans, I don't have anything against you as people- we're all the same behind our toons, no matter what Faction we choose to play. Some people play Horde because the Ally are a bunch of immature brats on their server. Some people play Ally for the same reason (the Horde are mainly egotistical, elitist assholes on Cairne. I know some good eggs on that side though, they're not all bad). So whatever side you play on, you're always welcome here to read my posts. Just watch out, if I'm in a BG and you're there on Horde....I don't like dying and will do everything I can to save my ass from slaughter ;)

I was discussing with one of the officers in my guild about how long this game has been around. Now me personally, I have been playing the game two weeks before the BC expansion pack was released. I had a level 60 Undead Warrior called Melevelia on the US realm of Arygos. She was my very first toon and I do miss playing her in some way. I was warrior tankage and I managed to take down Onyxia and clear half way through the old Naxx.

Then Cairne opened in March 2008 and I decided on a server transfer, since at the time Arygos was busting at the seams and I wanted out onto greener pastures (it seriously helped that they were offering free transfers to the realm to help out the server load on the higher populated realms). Cairne is now very much my home and even though at the moment, we're badly struggling with people leaving the server and being one of the lower progression US servers. But I love this server so much.

Since I have been on Cairne since the beginning, I've seen a lot of people come and go. I've seen countless guilds break up and countless guilds only last two weeks. My guild has actually been around for a while, we started off small and now we're growing and raiding finally. Drama has threatened to break us up countless times and we somehow manage to puddle through it. It's really amazing how much I have seen in this game- but I'm glad I stay and stick it out, no matter what crisis the server is currently going through.

But none of this would be possible if I hadn't discovered Warcraft 2 one rainy afternoon back in dreary ole England. I remember it raining that day, It was pocket money day and I was standing in a video game store with my Dad- he encouraged me to play because it kept me out of trouble and stopped me wandering off somewhere...lol. I remember that I was about 12 at the time and Dearest Daddy picked up 'Treasure Island Dizzy' - thinking that I would go for it, psh. At that point I no longer wanted to play on the crusting Commodore Amiga 1200 sitting in the corner, I wanted to play on the shiny new Compaq Presario 1500 sitting in my bedroom. My very first PC (which btw, I had to beg my parents for as they thought there was nothing wrong with the Amiga) So I picked Warcraft 2 off the shelf and my Dad automatically shot me down with the excuse of "Oooh no, isn't that more for boys? Are you sure you want that?" And I knew even all the way back then...I NEEDED this game more than I needed air. So he let me buy it and the rest is pretty much history.

Warcraft 2 spawned my addiction for Warcraft 3 and all it's expansions. Then when World of Warcraft came out, I said no initially because I didn't want to buy a monthly subscription for something I had already bought. So I started to play Guild Wars (yes, please feel free to shoot me) and a friend of mine convinced me to finally give all my hard earned money to Blizzard and sell my soul back to the Devil all over again. So I rolled on a random server (Arygos, you were the best and part of me still misses you!) then transferred to Cairne and I wish that I could buy my life back some days but other days I love this game for how much it has put me in touch with people I would never have known about otherwise. I have a small circle of friends, and a whole ton of other people I know...and it's awesome.

Big shout out to Arassa, Verilyn, Kiser, Imagoddess, Gunbound, Sionora, Firefighterb- you guys got me started and you're all amazing at what you do.

And HUGE hugs to my guildies Shaeebulay, Flintx, Desdemonisis, Drale- you guys are my family. I appriciate everything you guys do for me and I could not wish for a better guild or a better group of people to hang out.

And I'll blow a kiss to Poguemahon. This game is the reason I met you, and I'm so glad. You mean everything to me and more. You're a fantastic resto druid, an amazing person and a great Dad to your kids. Keep on being you :)

And anyone who hates me- kiss my ass. It's a game, get over yourselves.

Weekend Roundup

So this weekend was a crazy one for me- lots of stuff happening and lots of giggles.

First raid we did this weekend was OS 10 with 1 drake up. We kept trying and trying, and for some reason just like Onyxia...we kept having problems when the whelps spawned. But in true For the Alliance fashion, we also made it fun. Poguemahon got DC'd just before we got to Sartherion and we were taking out the trash before the boss. So to play with him a little, one of our warrior tanks Tmoe decided that we were going to prank our favourite resto druid and he told us all to type in /sleep and so we did. By the time he came back online, he thought that his healing addons were glitched and it was showing us all alive. At this point we're all calling out "Pog! We wiped on trash! Rez us please!" and he starts to rez us. Immedietely, we all jump up and yell out "Surprise! HAHAHAHAHA!" and we're all giggling manically....Pogue was totally gobsmacked that we pranked him so bad- it really was one of the funniest things I've ever taken part in :D

And then Saturday we went into Ulduar. Now Ulduar has always been a little bit of a sore spot for us, sometimes we have good days and othertimes we have bad days where we do stupid things like wipe on trash. It started off like it could possibly go horrendously wrong. We had one of our new members in the raid, Desdemonisis- who I have mentioned before. I like her a lot, to me she is a perfect raid member- intelligent, willing to learn, knows that her gear needs to be gemmed and enchanted and seems to know her class pretty well. So we start Ulduar and her gear is not that great, she's wearing mainly greens and blues. The rest of the raid is pretty good, so we all agree to carry her through the night to get her some gear. Now, don't get me wrong- I do not mean the term 'carry' in a bad way, it's just that neither her gear nor her DPS was up to snuff...and at the time we were BADLY in need of gearing up another warlock as our other lock wasn't on enough for us to use him enough (sadly he also has one of our only Shaman's too...so we're kinda scrabbling on that front too). So in we went, and we managed to wipe on Flame Leviathan....I held my head in my hands and I got very scared at what the ni ght had in store for us. But we tried again and took him out. Kinetic Ripper (which went to one of our huntards) and Lifespark Visage dropped, and being the only other clothie in the raid and already having my Tier 8 headpiece- I graciously passed so Des could have it. Next up, XT. XT has always been a fun fight for me, because I just find it a very consuming fight. XT dropped Treacherous Shoulderpads and a Pulsing Spellshield...and so Poguemahon (who's off spec is druid tank) and Drale (who's our guild holy p ally) were both very happy with their new upgrades.

Next up, Razorscale. Now this boss we had never downed, but since we have only ever completed half of the seige area...we decided to push progression and try to down Razorscale and Ignis for the completion of the area. Razorscale turned out to be a pushover, it must be a harder fight to tank or dps....but for healing i t was a cinch. I being a Disc priest, was on one of the tanks...so my job was to keep him alive. Also, I use an addon called Vuhdo (which is another version of HealBot) so I'm watching the bars of the raid too. So on heals we have two single-target healers and one raid healer (disc priest, holy pally and resto druid) and myself and Drale are on the tanks, and Pogue is on the raid. No wipes. One shot and down comes the beast- woot! Razorscale drops Dragonsteel Faceplate and Eye of the Broodmother. Yesssss, y ou heard that right- the flying whore dropped my mother fucking trinket! I felt like screaming from the rooftops, but I have been told off for whooping and hollering on vent (I've been told I'm waaaaay too loud and I deafen people), but instead I did something else...which was cry. I rolled a 78 and punched the air, cause I s wore that it was mine. Then the lock rolled a 92 and I felt like the world just crashed in around me- ack I hate losing loot. See, the trinket works really well for both DPS and healing...and both the pally and the druid passed on it- so it was just the clothies fighting it out. So our loot master is going to pass the trinket off to the lock, and then she says that she had won something in this part of Ulduar, so she passed off the trinket for me. OMG, I was seriously so happy- it was like my birthday had come a few days early.

Then we went across the way to Ignis, took out the trash and then gave Ignis one shot...and ran scared like schoolgirls. Yikes, he's hard. Time to go to Tankspot and figure out how to defeat him, lol. And so in true FTA fashion, we lighten the mood with something funny...so we all decided to fish...wooot! Time for a flashback comparison, if you remember...I did the same thing with Paragon a few months ago in Naxxramas. Heh. So here is the now:

So we skipped on Ignis until another night and went off to another boss that we knew we could defeat- Kologarn. We took out Kologarn easy, run across his body to the loot chest and see what he's given us tonight. In the chest was Spark of Hope and Mark of the Unwielding. Spark of Hope is a seriously sweet trinket, but since I had won a trinket that night- I passed on it for the resto druid who I knew wanted it badly. I'd like it, but I have my eyes on bigger things like Pandora's Plea and Talisman of Resurgence- intellect is a huge boost for me as it helps with mana regen. And in Ulduar, bigger mana pool means more heals for the longer fights :)

Onyxia.....you're a bitch

I'm starting to feel like a bit of a noob recently.

My guild has been attempting to down the new version of Onyxia, and frankly....it's hard. I am so used to the easy sauce level 60 version and it's so very, very different now to be doing it properly all over again. It's gives me flashbacks to the first time I did it in lvl 60 endgame (I got very lucky to have seen it just before BC came out). And frankly, the only reason that I'm even attempting this at all is because of the damn shiny loot the biatch drops. I'm not a fan of the classic helms, even though the stats on them are nice- I finally managed to get my Tier 8 helm yesterday, so I definetely won't be replacing that anytime soon.

But we get right up to the end of Phase 2 and we just keep wiping- I don't think that the dps is good enough, and that's hurting us. You know for a boss that Blizzard intended everyone to see, they sure did make it tricky to kill.

Last night, Chuck, myself and Shae started a Ony 25 pug raid and it looked like it was going to be a great thing looking at the people we had in the raid (a whole bunch turned up from one of the top raiding guilds). At the beginning, they had me healing one of the best tanks on the realm- Qp, who is a gnome warrior tank. This was monumental for me, as I idolise this girl...she is awesome at playing her class. Being a disc priest, I was a little nervous but they had great mitigation and I kept them healed easily. Then I guess they thought I was a bad healer or something, cause they took me off Qp and put me on Bigchuck from my guild. I had to laugh on the next try as the person healing Qp lost them right off the bat...and I laughed so fricking hard. Unfortunately, we had this raid leader in the raid from the same guild as Qp, and they talked the ENTIRE time, barking out commands over and over...repeating himself to a point where I seriously could not concentrate to heal. The tank that I was healing was Chuck, so I asked him if I could put vent on mute so I could actually concentrate. So after that, everything was good- I kept Chuck alive up until the last try where the two of us got bitchslapped and that was that. No loot for us- come back another time and try again.

By that time, I was pretty much falling asleep on the keyboard and I had to call it quits. I'm gonna go buy coffee this morning though, so I'm gonna go spend a few house in the local coffee house, drinking coffee and playing WoW. Ahhh, life can be so good sometimes :)

I Hate Crafted Items

Only a short post before I hit the hay for the night, but have I mentioned recently about how much I hate crafted items? My hatred towards them started back months ago before the summer when I was trying to horde titansteel for Lysix towards her Titansteel Destroyer, her lvl 80 gift to myself. Then when Fiorra got to 80, I had to hoard titansteel all over again for a Titansteel Spellblade.

Now it's happening all over again. I want to get Cord of the White Dawn and Savior's Slippers for Fiorra...and I have to hoard Moonshroud. 40 frickin pieces of it to be exact. Now let me tell you that if I use my own moonshroud cooldown, I have to wait 4 days till I can make another piece. 4 frickin days. Luckily, my guildies are willing to let me use their cooldowns until I have at least 20 pieces...I want the belt the most I think- don't try to deny that 3 sockets (extra comes from using a belt buckle) would be fricking sweet :) But right now the total is at 2 Runed Orbs and 2 pieces of Moonshroud. Ugh, what a pain in the ass.

Brewfest Progress

Since I took five days off from the game this year during Brewfest, I don't think I'm gonna have enough time to get the title...bah. Another foiled :( Halloween is where I'm gonna go balls to the wall though, cannot wait to have the Hallowed title on Fiorra....I think it has to be one of the coolest titles you can get.

I've done a few of the achievements, eaten the food, drank the beer and caught me a Wolpertinger. I've still got to defend the festival from the Dark Iron Dwarves, and I've seen Pink Elekks. And after four days of running the Coren Direbrew daily....I finally got one of the mounts :) Well, actually no I didn't. My friend Desdemonisis won it fair and square, but then she did something totally unexpected....she traded it to me and openly gave me the Great Brewfest Kodo, without any kind of a payment. Now don't get me wrong, I didn't ask for it and I didn't tell her I would pay her massive amounts of gold if she passed it to me. I had the second highest roll for the mount, but this was totally unexpected. I tried to pass it back to her, and she told me I had to keep it. I felt wrong having this mount as there were other people in the party who wanted it more than me...and I tried to trade it to them, but then they told me to keep it also. So, even though I really want the Swift Brewfest Ram (Fiorra looks awesome on the ram mounts- she has the Stormpike Battle Charger)...I have the Kodo to add to my collection. Only two from 25 and the Filling Up the Barn achievement!

Talking about mounts, it was around midnight and myself, Desdemonsis, Bigchuck and Gunbound were all bored. Gun and Chuck were in Ironforge getting horrendously drunk and puking on each other...and like typical girls, we were looking on in horror and squealing at their display of machoness. For the record, I am not that girly...I just got caught up in the moment, lol. And then Chuck brings out his Travellers Tundra Mammoth, boots off the vendors and since I love to catch a ride on these things...I jump on with Gunbound. Desdemonsis is trying to follow behind us, and Chuck being at the helm has us jumping off very high places in Dun Morogh...lol.

Sneezing and Insomnia

Since I got back to WI from after spending the summer in SC, my allergies have literally gone freaking crazy. I'm honestly not sure if it is the outdoor allergies I usually suffer with...or whether it's environmental allegies, and I've become allergic to my cats :( Whatever it is, I'm going through a box of Kleenex at a rapid rate and sneezing every second of the day. Last night after having my usual phone conversations, I tossed and turned for a while...couldn't sleep so I decided to wander back to the laptop and see what the rest of the guild was doing...

A good friend of mine was attempting to put together a Maly 10 run and I jumped at the chance to fight the dragon on Fiorra...as the only toon of mine to even attempt Eye of Eternity was Lysix. And since us healers are damn special, they were after healers...and I totally gave it my best shot. My internet decided to crap out on me in the middle of the second try, and so I DC'd, rebooted and tried again. We gave it three shots, the third shot was definetely the best as we got him down to about 25%. My friend was leading the raid though and he was terribly hammered, so we're gonna try to go again late tonight and down him. I think we're got it- the loot tables are disapointing though. There's a healer mace that drops off him, but for my healing set I really want a staff....and the staff that drops off Maly is a DPS staff...:(

And afterwards, before I totally dropped off at the keyboard I went to Uther's Tomb in the Western Plaguelands for Harvest Week quest I had in my bags. It was really pretty there, lots of mementoes that had been put down for Uther and he even had a beam of light shining down onto him. And so, in true dorky RP fashion with myself being a priest, I had to pay my respects to the game's greatest Paladin :)

The end of the quest gave me a book, which I read. And that was that. I thought that I would get an achievement or something...but nothing and now I still have this book in my bag about Uther. Now what?

I need HOW MUCH Crit?!

So since I cannot get in game at the moment, I've been studying up on making sure that I'm playing my toon correctly. It turns out that as a Disc priest I need to stack a lot more in crit...as I currently have 20% and I actually need 35%. Woah...seriously? How on earth am I supposed to get that much crit from my healing gear? I have 21% on my shadow set...and that's high as I'm only supposed to have 17%. All these numbers....think I may have to lie down...room getting fuzzy....

*THUD*

....ten minutes passes...

Ugh, ugh.....uh...where am I? Ah yes I believe I was having nightmares about numbers and critical strike, lol. Seriously, how on earth is a Disc priest in shitty gear supposed to get that much critical strike? I have some nice 226 pieces in my gear, sure...but a lot of my healing gear is still 200....so I know that I have some work to do. Oh I just don't know...I'm not a good enough priest to attempt crap like ToC 10 yet....I don't think I'm good enough to be healing Ulduar 25...but yet still my guild pushes me into it. I like healing, don't get me wrong...but I do not like healing when forced into it. If I'm in the right frame of mind and actually WANT to heal...sure chuck anything you like at me, and I'll have a crack at healing it...even scary shit like General Vezax or Old Kingdom. But if I'm in a mood where I just want to fuck shit up, don't ask me to heal because I will seriously just rip off your head and feed it to my cats.

My cats are ferocious beasts, dontcha know? (And for the record, I mean real ones. Not virtual hunter pets, cause...uh, I don't play a hunter in game ;) )

Guild Drama

So I logged last night around 11pm to have my usual nightly conversations with Poguemahon (we talk for a while and catch up with what happened over the day)...and supposedly someone from our guild got onto trade chat using a fake name and broadcast our vent info over trade chat....offering them 100g to come in to our vent and give us shit.

Now I know plenty of people on this server, and my automatic reaction is that the guy from the guild is someone I know from a while back, changed his name and is now trying to exact supposed revenge on me for reporting him to the GM's. Either that or it's someone else I know who has a pally alt that I didn't know about it. There's a lot of people on my server who want to slander my name for some reason....it's a game and most of these people take it far too seriously.

Whichever it is, I have changed the password on vent today and it is now fixed. I hope :/

Bored! So Frickin Bored!

So I have discovered that without the game, I get bored very very quickly. My computer is pretty much my only source of entertainment...and without WoW...my computer feels a bit useless, lol. Sure I can still surf the internet, play other games, listen to music and watch countless movies...but when I'm sitting there in the day with nothing to do and my daughter is at school, I do not want to watch daytime tv..because frankly, it blows.

And at night time as well, I'm so used to having a nice chunk of time to myself and just sitting down with my guildies and raiding. When it's all gone, I'm like a fish out of water and I'm not entirely sure what to do with myself.

Last night, I sat on vent with them- listening in to them downing Kologarn in two tries and attempting Razorscale. It was nice to hang out with them, but I wasn't in game...so I really felt like a lost soul...a spare part, if you will. I'm not even sure I like sitting on vent at the moment, because I feel like a third wheel.

I'm working on getting some money at the moment, and I'm really hoping to be back on by tonight- as they're gonna try to down Razorscale....and I'm gonna be really, really bummed if Eye of the Broodmother drops and I'm not there to roll on it. Same as if Pillar of Fortitude drops off the trash. I gotta get back ASAP, it's not like I'm really needed but I really want to be there to roll on any loot that might drop. I gotta find some money, and soon....ugh.

I Like Raiding...but....

We have this new guy in our guild, lets just call him D. D is a good guy and all, and we can all tell that he means well...but he's driving our guild into a hole where we are all snipping at each other constantly and drama is starting to well up again. We pride ourselves on being very much a non-drama guild and this new guy is causing drama left, right and center. With myself being a raid leader, I'm one of the people that the problems are handed to when they need fixing.

Last night, we ran Ulduar 25...and we did a really good job of downing Flame Leviathan. The neck piece I already have dropped, as well as a Runed Orb and some other junk. Ohh! We won our very first Fragment of Val'anyr. Since it is a Paladin, Priest, Shaman or Druid item...we had the relevant classes roll to keep the fragment in guild...and our main resto druid Poguemahon won to keep the fragment. Which means he also gets to keep the next 29...so that also means he will be the first in the guild to get the legendary mace Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings...lucky duck. I love my boyfriend and everything, but he gets the best loot in game sometimes, because he was also the one to win the neck piece, Freya's Choker of Warding. I wasn't too irked about that as I already had that on my heal set :) Then we moved onto Razorscale, and we couldn't seem to get it. Then XT...and again we had issues. But you have to realise that this also wasn't a pure guild run...it was a pug that we put together...and all night we were stuck with guys who were not guildies, so some of us felt like we just couldn't relax. Myself especially. I was missing my wingman all night, Yotuu; because his wife had asked him to go out on the boat with her...so I was handed raid leader last night and I have absolutely no tolerance when it comes to pug groups, as most of the people in the group were idiots who thought they knew better. And then I really started to get annoyed as D started taking over, trying to explain everything to the group (which was my job) but luckily I had given myself loot master...which worked pretty nice as I was actually given a job about something I knew how to do.

So Ulduar was a fail, so we all moved over to Naxx 25, which we managed to rip through a quarter of because we just made it look so damned easy. And when loot dropped, D tried talking over me...which I found to be very rude as I cannot do loot if D is trying to constantly make it all about him. He's one of those types that has to make it all about him..."Oooh ooh! Look at me, I'm over here! Hey you're not looking at me!!" GRRRRR. I'm sure that he would make a very good raid leader, but 1. I'm not stepping him down to give him my position. 2. Yo aint stepping down either. 3. We're not even making him an officer, because we know how badly he wants to be one. Sorry D, we have people ahead of you who qualify more.

Last night I didn't even schedule anything into the calendar because I wasn't sure on what we were doing...and D just went straight ahead of me and put together a Ulduar 25 pug run. Uhhh dude, no. So not cool. And it appears that some people are not cool with me being a raid leader. I was trying hard to keep people in line last night and keep it moving...and I got called testy. UHHH....I am a raid leader, it's my job to make sure everything keeps moving. That's my job and I take it very seriously. Don't like it? Tough. There's the door.

Next week there will be nothing on the calendar other than maybe some Naxx 10 runs. We have people in the guild who need to get geared up for doing Ulduar and we're dragging them in there with the rest of us hoping that they'll do okay. I don't like that and from today on, it's gonna change. Again...don't like it? Don't like the fact that I'm scheduling stuff you don't want to do? Don't come along then....it's really no loss to me. Oh and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

So we continued our Ulduar 10 run from this week, and we came across Kologarn. As you may know, there is some pretty serious trash in the hall before you go up the stairs to him and first try...wipe on trash. So we try again, and we get the trash down. I tell everyone to stick to the left and avoid the trash on the right. So everyone sticks to the left and we all go up to the stairs to Kologarn the jack-in-the-box...lol. Now I have personally healed through Kologarn on both 10 man and 25. 10 was easy with the group I was with and 25 was virtually impossible...even with amazing tanks and a whole bunch of amazing dps and healers.

So it was my guilds time to have a crack at Kologarn...and it was hard for us...we kept wiping and having issues with healers all over the board. But like the stubborn bunch we are, we kept trying and wiping...and wiping and trying, until towards the end another one of our druid healers came online and they pulled her in to give it one last try. We were all beat at this time, had drunk lots of alcohol and were falling asleep on our computers. And then the magic happened....we all got our acts together and we downed the damn cranky jack-in-the-box. Huzzah!

Spark of Hope dropped, and omg I wanted it so badly, but the resto druid we pulled in last second won it with a 100 roll...which irked myself and the other resto druid who had been healing all evening. That would be a really sweet heal trinket for my heal set though. I have to figure out what my main spec is...is it Discipline, or is it Shadow? I tend to do 50/50 on each because we are short on healers in our guild. Maybe I've gotta figure it out for myself, figure out what I enjoy doing more. Hmm.

But....we downed Kologarn! That puts our total Ulduar boss kills up to 3 now, yay!

Koralon The Flame Watcher

So it appears that the new boss in VoA is a tricky one. I personally, have not seen it yet...but my Guild Master has defeated it and our best resto Druid tried to down it last night, but failed as people kept getting caught in the fire.

We as a guild have defeated both Archavon and Emalon, so Koralon is our next boss that we have our sights set on. From the You Tube videos I've watched, the pages I've studied about the fight on Tankspot and the blogs I've read about it...it seems very much like an open and shut type fight, but it appears that it needs coordination- just like Emalon! Okay, so on Emalon to begin with I had to shout over vent "Lightning Nova! Melee, get the fuck out!" but since Deadly Boss Mods updated, it does the job for me and everyone knows the fight now. I used to think that Emalon was hard as heck, but now since I and the rest of the guild know the fight it's easy as pie.

I'm sure that Koralon will be the same way, study..study and study the fight some more and eventually we will down him. I love when we down stuff as a guild, everyone gets so happy and there's always a huge sense of accomplishment :)

Leaks?

So either you have been living under a rock today...or spent far too much time in game. But some supposed "leaks" have emerged on MMO Champion, that are the typical "I got the information from a trusted source" variety. I don't want to blog about the leaks incase I am 1. Slapped with a 'Cease and Desist' order or 2. Completely wrong about them. But anyhoo....Blizzcon is coming up this week, so I am pretty sure that we will know if the leaks were right or not by the end of the weekend.

I'm kinda torn about the information. Some of it makes me happy, some of it makes me sad. All I'll say is that I wanted to roll a Draenei Warlock...dammit! >:(

ARGH...I need to be shot. Probably by some Dwarf hunter with a big rifle, Hemet Nesingwary might be a good choice. Heck, I play a clothie as my main, I'd go down in one shot, lol.

I do apologise to anyone who was reading my blog on a regular basis and saw that I'd gone AFK for a huge chunk of time. But now I am back, and ready to start writing again with a vengeance. I just don't know where to start, as so much time has passed and so much has changed with my girls. Fiorra is now 80 and joined the rank of the big girls. Lysix has continued to get smacked around with the nerf bat by Blizzard, that I pretty much put her on the back burner and went back to playing Fiorra as my main. And I'm really enjoying playing a priest...I don't feel like I'm being a scrub by playing a DK as my main. Fiorra is now a kick ass shadow priest, with some really nice gear that I worked very hard for. I never stop trying to improve her though, so she is very much a work in progress. That and in shadowform...she looks creepy as hell with just her glowy eyes shining through...lol.

I should also update the banner image at the top. I love those guys, as they made Lysix and Fiorra everything they are today...but poor old Lysix is lvl 70 there....lol! I'll work on that sometime today :)

Dying Server

I think my server is dying and I don't know whether to jump ship or not. A lot of people are transferring off the server and going to some of the newer ones...but I have a lot of friends on my server and I really want to stay. But then the bigger raiding guilds are slowly dying off and it's just starting to look really pathetic. But in the next couple of weeks, there's a possibility that I won't be playing as much anyway...so I'm honestly not too bothered about it. If there is something nice that is going to be keeping me out of game, I'm all for it...because to be honest I only play this game because I'm bored a lot of the time- or the weather is shitty outside.

But yeah, in a couple of weeks I will be moving and I'm actually really looking forward to getting out of the hellhole that is this city and moving on. Time to get on with my life and stop spending so much of it playing a game. I mean, I'll still play just not in the vast quantities that I currently do.

So yeah, I know I've been a little bit of a slacker in writing this week....but to be honest there's really not been a whole lot to write home about. I'm gonna have to start coming up with some more ideas or something, hmmm....

Anyway, yesterday my shadow priest Fiorra finally got another mount other than her dumb elephant. I hate being a draenei sometimes :p A couple of friends of mine were running Heroic Magisters Terrace and they knew how badly I wanted the mount out of there....so I asked for an invite to the group and dragged my scrawny butt over to Quel'Danas Isle. I tried to get into the swing of things once we were in, but I just kept on getting my butt handed to me...so they told me to stay in the entrance hall where I would be able to roll on stuff that dropped and I'd also get a little experience too. I sure hoped they were right...turns out they were and I got some new loot! I got a new trinket for my healing set and I also got my mount! YAY! So here we have Fiorra at lvl 72 now...on her shiny new mount! :D

Also in other news, Fiorra has been kicking ass in the dungeons. Because she is a shadow priest, I've been working on getting her DPS up and now it's around the 900 mark...which I'm not too unhappy with, I know it could be higher but for now I'm happy. I ran Azjol-Nerub the other night with her and afterwards I checked out my Recount to see what kind of deeps I had pulled off in there....now, take in mind this is my DPS with almost broken gear....so I was pretty happy with this, cause I out DPS'd a warlock AND a mage! Boy was I a happy girl! :D

First Time Leader

So I took a priest from the hellish grind of levelling and went back to Lysix for a little while. Got some dailies done, quit Paragon because I was sick of feeling taken for granted and abused...and started my own guild. And we're small right now, but we're building on it and so in celebration of everything....we went on an Ulduar 10 man run. We grabbed the people from the guild and a few of our friends and went to tear Ulduar a new one. Man did we have fun! Half of the raid group had never been to Ulduar before so myself and Rob explained the fights and we got up to XT and got him down to 50%. We had a few teething problems on XT....so I'm gonna get everyone to watch the video on it and we're gonna try to go back tonight with the same group and take out the sucker. My crowning glory of the night though was leading the raid and taking control....I LOVED IT! And we downed Flame Leviathan far quicker than I have ever seen it done before!

And so in honour and remembrance of last night and our achievements....I took a screenshot! Hehe- WE ROCK! :p

I'd Forgotten...

Levelling is slow work. I am still at level 70 on my priest and it's taking a long time to get anywhere. I'd forgotten what a tough slog it is going from level to level in the Wrath expansion. 68-70 was easy as pie...but as soon as I got to 70...it was like someone put the breaks on and told me I couldn't go that fast anymore. Even dungeons aren't helping me out....because 1. I despise UK and Nexus after running them over and over and over on Lysix, and 2. All the caster loot that I wanted from those places I have so I have no real reason to run a dungeon again until I get to Dragonblight and I can run AN. Am I exactly looking forward to that prospect? Hell no, I hate AN on Lysix...so I'm not exactly going to enjoy it on my priest either.

But something super cool happened yesterday. Leagion came over to help me with the Last Rites quest in Borean Tundra and it was pretty easy with just the two of us....but I checked my Recount afterwards for the boss fight....and I got 1100 DPS on my lil ole shadow priest. Yes, you read that right...1100 DPS AT LEVEL 70. Holy shit, I am going to kick ass at level 80 and I'm so excited about it all :D

Last night something happened that I've been waiting on for a while....my little priesty finally dinged Level 70! Now if this was back in the BC days, this would have meant that I was level capped...but alas, we are now in the Wrath days...so that means I have another 10 levels to go till the level cap :( But it does also mean that I can start working on getting my rep up so I can collect the whole set of the Satin Battlegear for me to PVP in. Sure, I would usually go into battlegrounds and collect the pvp gear from Champions Hall in Stormwind....but I decided that I'm gonna save all my marks for a pvp mount and alll my honor towards the lvl 80 pvp gear. The Satin Battlegear you can get from various faction vendors around the Outlands, and I already have the robe :)

But yes....I finally got to Level 70! Woohoo! Now, after that short celebration...I gotta get back to the grind so I can get to level 80 and start getting this girl geared :D

Hit and Miss

Last night's Naxx run wasn't very good at all. We could not seem to get past Patchwerk at all....I was pulling my usual tactics (make sure I'm fulled buffed, flasked and food buffed...pop trinkets individually, watch threat, use Rune Strike)....and still I kept dying. Andrusha (one of the other tanks who was on back up duty) kept noticing the same stupid glitch as mine...I thought it was an internet problem of mine, but it appears it wasn't because the other tanks we getting the same glitch. Basically, one minute I'd be alive and smacking on Patch...the next minute the game would freeze for a second, and then I'd hit the deck. Which is impossible...because Patch cannot hit for 35k, I have too high health for him to one shot me. And I cannot go from having a full health bar one second to being dead the next. Stupid glitch, hopefully we will have more luck tonight when we go back again :)

So in the light of the stupid glitch....we all went off to OS 25 and took out Sarth, as a moral booster. It was too easy though, so next week we're shooting for 1 or 2 of the drakes being up....I love when we do that. I've done OS 1D twice and my first ever raid was an OS 1D...so I know it's a lot of fun :) But I won the roll on some new legs for my tanking set last night! I won the Dragon Brood Legguards and I got them with a 76! Yay! I was so happy after all my internet problems this week...I felt like the gods were smiling down on me or something :) Everyone congratulated me and I felt awesome....I love winning loot :D

Duel Speccing....Again!

So recently I had the 1000g to respec my priest, Fiorra. Up to this point, she was just a Holy priest...now she has dual spec and she is Holy and Shadow. And I have to say that it's probably the best thing I've ever done. I have a great cycle for her and I'm just taking stuff out so easily with my shadow spells. I think they call it face melting? Heh :) So Fiorra is almost at 67 now, one level away from going to Northrend and I seriously cannot wait to get her up there. I'm thinking about all the awesome quest rewards and armor and dungeons waiting for me to heal and dps in...:D

I'm afraid that I can't give you much of an update on Lysix. I'm still working on her dps gear, I found out that her hit rating was at 16%....which is double what it's supposed to be, so I'm taking out the HR gems and putting in strength and crit gems.

I'm also not in much of a mood to type, I've got a lot on my mind today.

Bunny Ears!

Remember the fishing in Naxx? Well now we have another tradition. Z always puts bunny ears on Lysix before she goes in to tank anything...whether it be an instance or a raid. I've tanked Patchwerk in bunny ears, Grobbulus and now Gluth too. I'm adding to the list, lol. But it's funny because it doesn't replace my helm or anything...they're just temporary. I guess it must be just hilarious to anyone who was to come in last minute as a PUG and see me tanking something in bunny ears :p

Talking about raiding, we did our FIRST EVER (!) raid last night with purely guildies. We now have enough people in the guild and online at the same time for 25 mans! Yes, finally! It's so much better when we have all guild, because then we don't have to resort to PUG'ing people we're not sure about. We got stuck on Gluth last night though....it was a very frustrating fight and we're gonna go back again tonight and try again :)

Amaraie is now almost lvl 17 now too. It's been slow levelling her for some reason, but I'm still loving it :)

Ticking Along Nicely...

So I've not been on Lysix a whole lot in the past couple of days. I've been on her to run some dailies and farm some stuff for gold...but apart from that, I have been mainly on my mage. I've become quite addicted to playing her, to the point where I splurged and bought her a BOA staff. And she joined Paragon along with Lileta...so now all my main toons are in the guild. I spent 65 Emblems of Heroism on the Dignified Headmaster's Charge for Amaraie, and it's actually pretty nice. I can always get more emblems...it's not a huge deal. The nice thing about the BOA gear is that once I'm finished with it on Amaraie, I can just send it to another toon and use it on that one. Nice, huh?

So after more questing and another Deadmines run, Amaraie is now lvl 14....and half way to 15. Awesome, eh?

Bunnies! Everywhere! Go Forth and Multiply!

So last night we finished up our Naxx 25 run, we could have gone for more again tonight but it's Tuesday...so Naxx has now reset and we've lost the progress that we made in there. But we almost had a full clear apart from 4H and Thaddius. We almost always seem to stumble on those guys and it's a little bit annoying.

But anyway, I get my invite followed by a summon a couple of minutes of later and I get to the stone and am greeted by the sight of bunnies. Cute little fluffy white bunnies. As I mentioned on my last post, Noblegarden is running at the moment and I guess a lot of us had the bunny costumes on us...so we turned people in our raid into bunnies for a joke. The raid started off in a great mood, our GM accidently ran out of Naxx and fell to his death...so we started making the traditional Monty Python jokes of "Bring out your dead!". And then we all get inside the instance to be greeted with more bunnies....almost everyone in the raid at this point has been turned into bunnies- Spring has sprung inside Naxxramas!

You'll see that I finished the Noblegarden achievements and now have the title of 'Lysix the Noble'- very regal and fitting for an English gal ;) But anyway, so we proceed to clear through the trash in Naxx....wiping on the damn slimes in Construct...and I got my first ever chance to tank Patchwerk on Naxx 25. We had three tanks for the fight- myself, Red (who's a pally tank) and Riska (who usually heals but in bear form is a wicked tank). I was one of the off tanks with Red...as Riska had higher dodge than the two of us I think. With raid buffs, my dodge was increased from 25% to 27%....so I was itching to test it out. And guess what? My first ever shot on Patchwerk....and NO ONE DIED! I was amazed and shocked that I did it. I was very careful with my cooldowns and popped my trinkets one at a time....I ate the hateful strikes like a pro and I deserved a huge pat on the back after that! OMFG I OFF TANKED PATCHWERK 25....HOLY SHIT!

And my glory wasn't over. I was asked to tank alongside Z who is another pally tank in the guild when we got to Gluth and we downed his first time. By this time I am freaking the hell out because I am on such a high from getting Gluth, Grobbulus and Patchwerk all down. I got my first ever chance to tank the Construct Quarter of Naxxramas on Heroic setting and I shined, I honestly did. Then we got to Thaddius and we wiped a lot. Heh, either our good luck ran out or everyone just got insanely tired. Which ever it was, we called it and all went to bed.

Or at least I was going to...but got an idea to go level my mage instead. Poor Amaraie had been abandoned for a few months and I was itching to give another spell caster a shot. I love druids but I'm not sure I want to level another one again. And I need to get my priest to 80....but man she can be annoying and frustrating to play sometimes. So with the help of one of my closest friends, Leagion and Amaraie went traipsing through Deadmines. And now she is lvl 12 :D

I Had A Title For This Post.....But I Lost It...

I know, I apologise for this late post. Currently at this point in time, I just literally rolled out of bed so my brain is fuzzy and my fingers don't really want to type at this point...but I am literally forcing them to. I stayed up way too late talking to a very good friend of mine and I wish I could have slept more but if I did I would have happily slept the day round....and I gotta get back to levelling my cooking!

So I did something yesterday that I had been meaning to do for a very long time....create a bank toon! My bank toon now handles all my AH transactions, holds the majority of my gold and stores the rest of my junk. I need to get some bags made for her so she can hold more junk. The nice thing about a bank toon though is that she stores my gold for me. That way, if it's on a toon that I have no intention of levelling....it's out of sight and out of mind. I can save for stuff a lot easier that way and at last count, I have 400g saved towards my epic flying. I'm gonna mine for a bit today on Lysix I think, maybe some stacks of ore will get me some nice gold. If I was to level my herbalism on Fiorra too....that would be some extra cash...hmmm.....

Last night was our usual Naxx 25 run and it went pretty much all night as it usually does. We almost cleared the Military Quarter....we had a few hiccups with the 4 Horsemen fight and it was a little frustrating to say the least, so we left it and I think we're going to go back and have another crack at it tonight. As usual though, when we get a little bit frustrated we all tend to do something a little off the wall....in this case we went back to fishing in Naxx! That's definetely becoming a guild tradition, I swear. The people we PUG must think we're crazy or something...

We cleared Plague easily though as we usually do...so that was very nice. I won a new piece of loot from Heigan the Unclean and it was most definetely a case of 'Third Time's A Charm!' because the Sand-Worn Band dropped again and I rolled a 91! YES! It was obviously on the cards today for me, it was shaping up to be a lucky loot day for me...

For the last two years, I have been farming a particular instance for a mount. No, not the Deathcharger's Reins ....although that is another mount that I eventually want. Stratholme is one of the most depressing places on earth though, so I only go in there for the mount and rep farming. No, no I've been after the Swift White Hawkstrider, which drops from the last boss in Heroic Magister's Terrace. So in my usual daily quest through the instance.....it FINALLY drops off the last boss and I win the roll on it! Yes, yes and more yes! OMG I squealed like a little girl...I am a total mount whore...I swear.

Oh and Noble Garden is here again! So here we have Lysix on her shiny new mount while wearing a set of bunny ears that someone threw on her. Cute, eh? :p

Since we're a fairly new raiding guild, it's taking us a little bit of time to get some of the content downed. As we get new members into the guild though, we're able to to get stuff nailed down so we can move on. We had downed the Flame Leviathon in Ulduar the second day as a guild....but last night was my first shot at it. I was told to put on my best gear so I did exactly that and I went to town, as I was the gunner on Riska's vehicle. I actually really enjoyed this fight, and seemed a little easy to be honest once you knew what you were doing. But eventually, the boss was down and two shiny purples dropped off him- one of them being my new trinket! I actually rolled against Riska for it...and I felt horribly bad because we both wanted it for our DPS sets. Which is more of a main spec for Riska and an off spec for myself. I won the roll on it though and I'm glad I did because my DPS SHOT UP with it equipped from 1300 to 1700. Woot woot! Pyrite Infuser FTW!

We were also going to get a guild photo in front of the downed Flame Leviathon for both the website and my blog....but we failed because by the time we were organised enough to get it done...the remains of the boss disappeared from behind us and there went the chance for the photo! Hopefully tonight we will finally down XT and we can get the photo that we've been needing for a few days :p So blame my guildies for lack of pictures this time round ;)

Soon To Be A Champion!

I'm currently working towards my 'Champion of the Frozen Wastes' title. I cannot wait until I see 'Lysix, Champion of the Frozen Wastes' above my characters head. Not that I am dissatisfied with 'Bloodsail Admiral Lysix', as that title has been with me a while and served it's purpose. I also have 'Lysix Jenkins' but I don't tend to use the title too much. I'd also like 'Lysix the Argent Champion', 'Lysix, Guardian of Cenarius' and 'Lysix of Darnassus'....but those will come in their own time, I'm sure. My #1 title I'd LOVE to have though is 'Twilight Vanquisher Lysix' but damn, that's a hard one to get.

Anyways, I'm three away from my Champion title. I have to complete both Oculus and Drak Keep on Heroic...and also take out Maly. We've been trying to take out Maly for a couple of days now, and each time we get a lot better. So a couple more tries and I think we'll get it. I'd love to do Oculus and Drak Keep before that though, so when we do down Malygos....I'll automatically get my Champion title and downing Maly will just make that even sweeter.

But anyway, I digress. The reason I even started talking about titles was that tonight I ran two heroics with my guildies. I <3>my guildies and the guild as a whole. We can be a little bit scatterbrained sometimes, but once we get sorted...WE ARE AMAZING :D

So we ran Old Kingdom and Culling of Stratholme...ever wanted to know what I look like as an actual person? Check out the screenshot below as Lysix as a human....that's a pretty close resemblance ;) But anyway I won new loot! I finally got to replace Tempered Saronite Bracers (I know, two months into lvl 80 and I was still wearing them >.<) with the Bindings of Dark Will. Still only a blue-quality item, but they're a lot better than what I was wearing. I have to get them enchanted though, so I'm gonna grab the mats for those out of the bank and get to it. I also won something that I have wanted for WEEKS.....the Reins of the Bronze Drake .....YEAH! Now....hmmm how do I find 5000g? >.<

We've got some things in store though for this week though, some of them pretty sweet....so we will just see if I get my title by the end of the week :D

There's Always a Silver Lining in Every Grey Cloud...

Sometimes I feel very blessed that I have the friends that I do in game. The others, well I call those either acquaintances or enemies....the majority falling under the last category. I don't know why I seem to make enemies so easily, because I'm nothing but nice to people. Maybe they feel threatened by my niceness or something. Or maybe it's because I'm part of a raiding guild- they feel like nice people like myself don't belong in raiding guilds. Well, I got something to say to those people.....A BIG F U. I've always been about proving people wrong, ever since I was a small child...and I'm starting to see those same characteristics in my daughter as she grows up.

It's why I play a tank. Most people on Cairne seem to think that girls can't play tanks, but ya know I don't think I do a bad job at it. I know I still need to learn a lot, and every day I make it my personal goal to learn something new about my class and role...so I literally pore and sweat over sites like Elitist Jerks and Tank Spot. I'm extremely determined to prove the people wrong on Cairne who think I'm a terrible DK and a terrible tank. Because I know I'm not. I have my faults like every other player on the server, but I am in not terrible...not in the slightest.

And to top it all off, I made a new friend last night who was also a DK tank....actually one of the best on the server. He's also in one of the top guilds, so I feel very priviledged that he took time out to talk to me about some stuff. Nihaelis, my hat is off to you and thankyou so much. I might be hitting you up again today....if that's okay with you. I just noticed you have a blood spec for tanking and I'm up for trying something different because as much as I'm in love with the deep frost spec...something obviously isn't working right for me.

I used to enjoy playing Lysix, it was always a little bit of a challenge to tank with her when Paladins and Warriors always made tanking look so easy. But after patch 3.1, they nerfed DK tanks into the ground and it almost feels like I'm wearing cloth armor instead of plate. I can't seem to take a hit without being two-shotted, I'm almost scared to hold aggro cause I'll go down one one shot and wipe the raid/party, and my dodge was nerfed from 30% to a lousy 23%.

I am honestly tempted to just screw it all and delete her since there is no way I can tank on her now without dying. I don't want to level my priest though because she had her spirit nerfed and I'm scared how hard it is going to be to heal with her now.

Maybe this is Blizzard's way of saying that it's time for me to give up the game. I don't know.

So last night we ran Naxx 10 as a guild for the first time. I wasn't really sure that I needed any loot from Naxx 10, but I guess I was wrong because I ended up winning the Deflection Band and the Plague-Impervious Boots....first time I ever won two pieces in a night. The other tank in the raid with us was Zandrex, and he prefers to DPS so we were both rolling on the tank gear. I won the boots fair and square on my roll, but he won the ring and he ended up passing it to me like a total sweetheart. That's the third ring that's dropped for me in Naxx, and the third time I've gone and lost the roll on it...I have horrible luck with ring drops. I guess I was very lucky to get this one :)

The best part of the run though (and this had me holding my sides I was laughing so hard!) was that we lost a healer because they wern't in the mood to heal, so we waited for Emtech to get her butt into gear and get Healbot and DBM updated...our Warlock decided to get out her fishing pole and see if she could fish anything up in the slime. And then a few other people followed suit! Now did Blizzard ever intend for us to be standing around fishing in Naxxramas? Probably not, we're supposed to be kicking the bosses asses...but yep, here's half my raid group standing around fishing in Naxx. Enjoy the hilarity :D

So yesterday I pretty much just tooled around fishing again. I finally found where Nat Pagle was hiding out in Dustwallow Marsh and got the quest from him to find the fish. He's gonna give me a new pole as a reward...hehe ;) In the end though, I gave up on the quest for the night cause I couldn't be bothered with all that travelling, so I just fished out of the fountain in Dalaran for coins and goldfish. I figured I'd try and get the coin achievements, as it was better than nothing :) But as I am standing there, I get an invite for the Ulduar raid that the rest of the guild is running that night...and I automatically start freaking out.

Because I was so terrified at that point, I click on 'Accept' for the summon and completely forgot my half-assed DPS gear out of my bank. In a way I'm kinda glad I did, because I didn't want to show up the guild with my terribad gear...I'd rather show up in my very sweet tank gear and attempt some half assed DPS. And half-assed it was, my DPS never got any higher than 1100...ouch >.<

But we had a lot of fun trying to figure out the fight (it was this mechanical robot that talked about toys and crap- don't ask me the name of the boss) and I have to say I really love this guild now. We all get pumped up and cheer each other on and I love that so much :) We kept wiping but we just kept going with encouraging raid chat of "Come on! We got this!!" and "Let's go, we can take out this dude!". In the end though, it was about 2.30am and we noticed we were getting worse, so we called it a night and we all packed it up until tomorrow night :)

So today I'm gonna get the DPS gear I have enchanted and a couple of pieces replaced (because some of it is lvl 78 gear). If I'm to be any use to this guild and not have them feel like I'm carrying me through the new content....I'm going to try my freaking hardest to bring up my DPS to an acceptable number (I'm kinda shooting for around 2000, hopefully)

Another Change?

First off, I switched guilds again. Riska from Unforgiven wanted to start his own guild and I was privileged enough to get an invite to the new guild. So I picked up both Lysix and Fiorra- and proceeded to move them over. We're going to run Ulduar 10 tonight as a guild, and I'm a little nervous about it all...but you know I've kinda got Naxx cracked so I'm not too nervous about it all.

Second off, I think I need to be shot or something....I came across Miley Cyrus- Breakout in the last week and I can't stop listening to the album. Now I am a closet Hannah Montana fan too....so I can't say I'm entirely surprised at all this, but yeah. I'm 27 and I like HM and I'm listening to Miley Cyrus. Help me...please!

Also in other news, I moved this week and I discovered that not only does the local park have a very good free wifi connection but my neighbour has a great unsecured wireless connection too....so unbeknown to him...I'm cadging off his internet connection when I'm at home...mwahahahah >:)

This week has been a little crazy to say the least. I'm going to be moving tomorrow, so I'm trying to get last minute things done today and packed up n stuff. We had more drama in the guild again this week, but again it has all blown over and it's over with.

I am lucky though because with myself having a laptop, I don't have to worry about an internet connection there cause I can just go to any public place and find some free wireless :) But less about the outside world and more about what is going on in game.

I am happy to report that I finally managed to find the money for both an epic mount for Fiorra and the 1000g for the duel spec for Miss Lysix. Patch 3.1 came out yesterday and I havn't seen much of it other than to get the duel spec and set up my talents...it was horribly laggy so I played my new undead warrior for a little while. Then I went back to Lysix (because I thought that the server might have calmed down a little) and the server was calmer....but then it crashed and it didn't come back up. By this time, it was about midnight so I decided to call it a night and turn in.

My boyfriend made a funny joke yesterday. He quit the game recently cause of personal reasons, and I miss him a lot not being in game with me...but I know why he did it and it's not for me to say. He deleted his entire account, including his two 80's he had. He then proceeded to make the joke that he should have given me his toons and then I could have turned them into girls, bwahahahahaah xD I would have felt very honored playing them, I swear. He had some really nice gear on them. Maybe then I would have had the Champion of the Frozen Wastes title :p Fiorra will be getting that before Lysix at this rate, the Maly fight scares me a little. Don't like the sound of having to death grip something....yikes!

But right now I'm going to see if I can finally go and see what this Argent Tournament is all about, I really want one of the new mounts...especially the Mechanostrider- it's in my favourite colours! (red, white and black) :D

Change Of Schedules

I am having to move out of the current place I am living at...so unfortunately I am no longer going to have as much game time as I currently have. The place that I am moving to doesn't have an internet connection of any kind, so I'm going to have to go find a local cafe or something that has a wireless connection for my laptop. Also, the place that I might be moving to has a curfew of 10pm...so I'm going to have to be in the early raids and be back home by the curfew...so no more late night chits chats with Kare and Wickyd...I'm going to miss that :(

Hopefully this is only temporary, and I will be back to my usual crazyness with the guild. I mean, I could switch guilds and find one that has earlier raiding times...but I love my guildies too much to just abandon them all. And no, giving up the game is not an option...cause I'm subscribed up to July and I don't want to just lose out on my game time.

And yesterday, Robbiesword told me that next week I'd finally get my Fall of Naxxramas achievement, come hell or high water. And I plan on holding him to it ;)

Level 60! Speed Levelling FTW :D

I'm getting closer and closer to my second Level 80 :D Fiorra (my Holy priest) dinged Level 60 last night and I am so psyched that she is finally in the Outlands :) Now I'm going to use the same tactic that I used from 1-55, I'm going to heal my way through the dungeons and level up that way. Sure that means that I don't do many quests, but I get the gear and the exp that way...and that's all I need. I think it would be very beneficial to Unforgiven if I had both a tank and a healer, because then when we have too many tanks in the party- I can go and grab Fiorra. Cause if there's one thing I've learned, you can never have too many healers in a raid. Well, I guess you can...because you have to have a balance...but there's a shortage of healers in the guild anyway...so I can only be doing a good thing by spending so much time on my priest, right? :)

Besides, I want to get some Tier 7/7.5 gear for her- I know she's gonna look kick ass in that gear :D I also found another set for her last night, the Mooncloth Battlegear (similar set to the Wyrmhide Battlegear I have on Gali). It's red and has this nifty red halo...omg I want it. I tried it on her and she looks sick :D Ooh I love gear, I'm a gear slut. Still need the full Tier 7.5 set for Lysix...hopefully one day before Patch 3.1 I will have it :D

Hahahaha. Myself, Wickyd and Kare have an in-game joke that we are 'Charlie's Ho's'. We call each other ho's as a joke...and we realised that there was three of us...so the Charlie nickname stuck. Now we've started calling Downlo 'Bosley', and he doesn't really like that too much. Who is Charlie? Ahh. You'll have to figure that one out for yourselves...;)

Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. Thursdays are always a bit of a mixed grab-bag of a day in game...we tend to do whatever pops up last minute. Fridays and Saturdays are always a little bit more set in stone...I know we do a lot of 25 man stuff at the weekends, and most of the loot I want is from 25 man Naxx..so I'm excited for the weekends :) I ran 10 man Naxx last night and it was a little bit of a disaster cause the healers were not strong enough to get us through the Military Quarter. I was a little saddened because the Tier 7 chest piece drops off the Four Horsemen in that quarter...and I really need a new chest piece :( Let's hope something nice comes out of this weekends runs :D

I ran a couple of heroics last night though, so that was always fun :) I won a couple of new pieces for my tanking set, so I am a very happy bunny today. And I finally got the Bolstered Legplates!! I've run Violet Hold about twenty times trying to get these babies to drop, and my lucky finally came through for me :) I also got a new cloak from the Nexus- and it was a little bit better than the one I was wearing....so I replaced the Cloak of Peaceful Resolutions with Cloak of the Enemy . So now I just have to replace my trinket and my bracers, then I will be happier with my gear, and I can get a proper enchant put on my bracers. Still want Bracers of the Unholy Knight really badly, so hopefully we will do Military Quarter in Naxx 25 tonight and then I have a chance of getting them. OMG, I will seriously cry if we do that quarter and they drop and lose the roll on them. I'm such a girl :p

I can't believe it's Thursday already. There's been some weird things happening in the guild this week, including a lot of drama...but I will not discuss that here because it is neither appropriate nor right to drag everyone involved through the mud on my blog. I really want to with a certain person, but I have a little more class than that. This is a blog to discuss my in-game adventures, not a blog about the gossip and drama going on in the realm of Cairne. That's for someone else to talk about, not me.

Anyway, since the last time I wrote...I got my first exalted reputation! And I know it probably should have been Argent Dawn or Darnassus...but with Lysix being a Death Knight, I decided to work on Knights of the Ebon Blade first...so I could get the DPS boots for my off spec, the Death-Inured Sabatons. I was in Utgarde Keep at the time, running with the guild and tanking. I was squealed in delight when I finally hit Exalted...I'm a well known within the guild for being a little excitable at times...so I guess it was no surprise to the guys that I reacted this way :)

And I am still trying to get the pants to drop off the last boss in Violet Hold, the Bolstered Legplates. I've been trying for about two weeks now and I've had no luck at all. Got another achievement in there last night though, so that was pretty nice :D

Dilemma

I don't know what to do concerning Lysix. I love playing her and I love playing a tank...but I know that my gear isn't the best and needs a lot of improvements...and I don't want to sit back in the DPS role and just watch everyone. I don't learn very well by watching, I'm more of a doing person. Also, my DPS gear really sucks and I'm wearing lvl 78 gear mainly (apart from my Tier 7.5 gloves and my polearm from Naxx)...and so I don't want to take up the space in the raid cause my DPS blows at 1300. And I don't want to work on it at the moment because I want to work on my main spec first, which of course is tanking. I am so utterly lost and confused, I'm just tempted to jack it all in for a few days and go off and play Fiorra for a while.

I want to become a more knowledgeable tank...but I feel like if I just sit back and watch the other tanks do it, I'm gonna lose my spot as a tank in the guild and will be relegated to a DPS spot. I know I can do it, I tanked Maxxena, Noth and Faerina last night in Naxx...so I've proved to myself that I'm quite capable...but I just want to keep trying and the more I feel like I'm getting pushed back into a corner, the harder I'll try to be better and figure stuff out. K was nice enough to point me towards a couple of pages last night and I've been reading up on all those for most of the morning. I think I'm gonna go and hit up Tankspot too so I can watch some more videos on the Naxx bosses. I am so frickin determined to succeed as a tank it's not funny. I just feel like part of myself is doubting my abilities and the other half is telling me to shut up and just get it done.

I gotta do this. I gotta prove to myself that I can't just play spellcasters and that I can play a melee toon also. I refuse to go backwards, forwards is the way to go.

An Evening Off...

Last night, we ran Naxx just like we do most Saturdays and we cleared the Plague Quarter first, which I wasn't particularly happy about because it was about my fourth time doing that quarter. I went DPS for the evening, got my gear from the bank while buying some new boots and shoulders...and also respeccing. All in all, the run probably cost me about 100g- yikes. I figured that they wouldn't need me for a tank role and I had the gear so I just went for it. I got lucky in the Plague Quarter as a new neck piece dropped for me- Heritage. Supposedly, it's one of the best tanking neck pieces you can get in game...so I was pretty happy.

Then we decided that we were going to run Construct and I felt my heart drop. I was told by Iform that the next time we did Patchwerk, he would give me a chance at tanking him because DK's have high dodge and parry...and you need that for the Hateful Strikes that Patchy dishes out. But here we are, going into the Construct Quarter and I can't tank at all because my spec is wrong and my tanking gear is back in the bank. Sigh :( I ask Kaylesta over vent if they needed me to go back to my trainer and respec back into my tank spec while getting my gear from the bank...but I was hit with a wall of silence, apart from one person telling me that my gear wasn't good enough tank Patchwerk...but she had a nice tank set and was willing to tank it if they needed her. I was about ready to rip out her throat but K stopped the two of us...next time she makes bitchy comments like that at me, I will not hesitate to verbally bitch slap her.

And on top of all this, Amegah throws a hissy fit in the middle of Naxx and kicks us all off his vent channel...so we're screwed and we have no vent. Oh and did I mention that Amegah proceeds to remove both of his lvl 80's from the guild at that point? I didn't? Well, he did. He acted like a spoiled teenager that was throwing his toys out of his crib. Luckily, Downlo provided us with a temp solution and we were good for evening....until the amazing Kaylesta went out and bought the guild a new vent channel with his own money.

So props to Kaylesta! Oh and thanks for the respec money, you're a gem :D

I almost gave up tanking with Lysix yesterday....I came so very, very close to jacking it all in and I'm so glad I didn't because this morning is a new day and I know I can do it well after something that happened last night. The first thing that happened is that we had two 10man Naxx runs going and the one that the other guys were in went fine, as I was watching the achievements fly by on the chat box. Ours on the other hand.....we couldn't get out of the Arachnid Quarter. And by the end of the second boss (who we couldn't seem to take down, may I add) myself, Kaylesta, Andreman and the rest of Unforgiven who were in my group...were all tired and about ready to call it a night. We were saddened and frustrated by the fact that we couldn't seem to clear the easiest wing in Naxxramas. The shaman and the hunter that were in the group? Yeah I don't remember your names off the top of my head, but you fucking sucked. How many times do we have to say..."DON'T KILL THE ADDS!!" FFS.......

Afterwards, we went over to AN cause I wanted to see if the trinket would drop off Hadronox but it didn't and we got to the last boss and we couldn't seem to take him out...so I gave up and went off to sulk while mining. I just felt like I wasn't capable of tanking anymore, so I told everyone I was gonna go DPS and to forget me as a tank. So I went mining for an hour in Howling Fjord for cobalt and I was totally broke by this point, so I went to think about what I was going to do to get the money for my repairs. Ripleywayne at this point psts me and offers to pay for my repairs, what a sweetie :) And then Denv mentions in guild chat that he needs one DPS and one tank for 10 man VOA....I tell him I'll tank it cause I wanna give tanking one last shot, so I get an invite to the group. That's where I meet a total jackass who obviously doesn't know how to inspect my gear.

Conrac of the guild Angels of Darkness, you are a total jackass and I am going to publicly shame you on the internet. I don't care if you never ever read this, but this makes me feel better somewhat so shut up and pay attention. L2 inspect, noob. He armoried me and swore up and down that I wasn't defense capped...when I know full well that I am. So I went to check the Armory for myself...and none of my gems and my enchants were showing up on my gear...WTF Blizzard?! Stop screwing me over! If he would have inspected my gear, he would have seen that the Armory was bullshitting him and my gear was perfectly fine. So the twatbag leaves the group cause "the MT isn't defense capped". BULLSHIT. Good riddance to bad rubbish, don't let the door hit you on the way out. My defenses were totally up after last night, so I wasn't taking any crap from anyone. So Denv psts me and tells me to come back to the group cause he left, so I agree to it and we slaughter Archavon the Stone Watcher in no time at all. I was totally amazed at how well I tanked it, even the OT said he barely got any damage...and as a MT, that's my job to make sure I'm the one taking all the damage. Denv also told me to change the loot settings to Master Looter so no one could ninja, it honestly never crossed my mind...so I'm glad he said something. So I checked the loot afterwards, and the Grand Black War Mammoth had dropped...man I wish I could have ninja'd it...but in those runs you have to be fair and just cause you are representing your guild. I didn't win the roll on it either, I rolled a 42....damn! Some warrior-only gloves dropped, but Denv passed on them- I guess he must have already had them. So I dished out the loot and got people to roll on it all, apart from the rogue gloves because there was only one rogue in the group so I just gave them to that person.

So Lysix is tanking for another day. Cause the VOA run went amazingly smooth and I actually did a fairly good job after the fucking abuse from that stupid druid. Maybe I should start acting like I do on my healer...don't fuck with me otherwise I'm just gonna drop group and you can find another tank/healer. Oh and BTW, I switched Fiorra from Holy to Shadow last night...I figured it would be easier to level her that way. So we shall see :)

Updates! Argh!

Yes, I am aware that I am a total slacker. I havn't updated in a few days and I've actually been quite busy. Both my mining and my Jewelcrafting are almost maxed on Lysix, and I've been raiding with the guild like a crazy person trying to gear myself up...slowly but surely. I have to get back to playing Fiorra sooner or later...I just have to find a willing person to help me level her up. I was in the mood for healing a dungeon the other day, and I got on Fiorra and put myself in LFG...and there was NOTHING. I was so disappointed. I'm not looking forward to the Outlands though, all those damn DK tards- trying to heal them is going to be a pain in my ass, I just know it :(

But anyway! New gear on Lysix! Over the last week since I have joined Unforgiven, I have earned myself some very nice pieces including my recently acquired Monarch Crab figurine and my new belt I won the roll on last night in Naxx 25! Woohoo! There were so many tanks in the raid that night that when it dropped, I didn't think that I stood a chance in winning it. In the end there was myself and one other tank that rolled on it...and I won it with an 82! So I am now the proud owner of my dream belt, the Ablative Chitin Girdle- yay! :D I have a notebook by the computer and I go through the armory and ask friends for advice on my gear and they tell me pieces that I should own....that belt was one of the ones wrote down in my notebook, so I am very very happy with it. Now to replace my gloves and my bracers....I really want the Bracers of the Unholy Knight and the Horn-Tipped Gauntlets. I've been running Gundrak almost every day trying to get the gloves to drop off the last boss but I've seen them once and was ninja'd out of them- that's about my luck.

I've been lucky with my loot drops though, and I know that so I really can't complain too much. I feel very blessed that I found a really great guild with really great members and officers. I feel completely at home and I would not leave them for the world. Especially when we run Naxx three times a week xD

I won Tier 7 shoulders last night in Naxx. Seriously. You know, the shoulders I've been pining after for weeks? Yeah.....I won the roll on a Tier 7 token and it was for the shoulders. And they're bitchin and I look fucking badass in them. So I am now the very proud owner of a set of Valorous Scourgeborne Pauldrons. FUCK YEAH!!

For now that is all this post requires because this was seriously the highlight of my year so far. So goddamn happy :D

I've Been A Little Busy....Kay?

Oh my, I feel like I'm flying....I'm on a total raiding high. I've run through so much of the end game content in the last few days it's totally insane. It all started with Thursday night, and I was invited to the guild's Naxx10 run. I mentioned this before and I was totally crapping myself going into it because it was made out to be seriously hard and stuff. So we get in there and I'm thinking "Huh. So this is what the inside of Naxxramas looks like..." And of course it's creepy as fuck and looks like it belongs in the Eastern Plaguelands (which is where the raid originally was). Why they didn't change the look of the place when they moved it is beyond me.

But anyway, I get told that we're gonna clear the Plague Quarter and I'm actually getting really excited by this point...until our MT and GM starts randomly disconnecting...and then I start freaking out majorly because I'm OT for Naxx that night and he's the only tank that I 100% trust to do the job right in here. (Kiser is the other tank I trust to tank behind, but because he would be as clueless as me in here....he isn't relevant during this point in time). So Amegah volunteers to take over and then I start panicking because I don't know how he plays as a tank (Amegah is a kick ass Holy Pally)....so now I'm being forced to tank behind someone I have no clue about. At this point, Iform, Kaylesta and Wickyd all start whispering me trying to calm me down because I'm almost in tears I'm so freaked out about this prospect. And that ended in both Wickyd and Kaylesta becoming friends of mine in game. (Iform was already a friend of mine)

We did okay on Noth the Plaguebringer, and then we got to Heigan the Unclean....which was a bit of a disaster because half the raid died and in the end it was one tank, one DPS and one healer that took out the bastard. The MT led me straight through the waves of green goo and I was toast. I felt like a lousy player because I felt like I just couldn't do this properly. And then we got Loatheb and I'm OT of course and the MT asks me to pick him up for some reason....and I guess the healers wern't ready for that because a couple of hits and I was down. Sigh, at least I know the Plague Quarter a little better now. But...there was a ray of sunshine to all this because I actually won something in there! I got the Legplates of Inescapable Death ....wooohooo, my first ever Naxx drop :D Sure I don't need the shield block values on them (DK's don't use shields) but they were a huge upgrade from my old pants, so I was very very happy :D And I got the achievement for The Plague Quarter too! Yeah!

And then last night we went back and we finally got round to clearing out Sapphiron...she was actually a fun fight and fairly easy once you knew what you were doing. I didn't OT for that fight because it wasn't needed, so I was asked to DPS the big girl. Basically, you beat on her until she goes up in the end and then you get behind anyone who turns into an iceblock. Then frost will rain down on you and you wait till she comes back down and then you carry on beating on her. And it continues like that until she dies. Luckily, I had my Icebane Chestguard and Icebane Girdle, so I think they may have helped me out a little with the frost resistance :)

And then last night we did a funrun of OS10 and OS25 on top of Naxx10. Let's just say this, it totally broke me. I ended up spending close to 150g on repairs last night and I ended up having to crawl to one of my new friends in the guild- Zeneva, who is a resto druid (I love druids, so many of my friends play them). She was nice enough to give me 50g and luckily when I got back near a mailbox, I'd had a couple of auctions cash in for me so I had the money to pay back into the guild bank. (I feel guilty borrowing money for repairs, so I always dump money into the guild bank by repaying the guild for being so nice to me. I've put in 100g in the last couple of days, so I don't have money for anything other than raiding till I figure out a source of income other than dailies). But yeah, it's been mental over the last couple of days. I'm starting to think that if I have money by Monday to buy a new gamecard, I'm gonna level Fiorra for a little while to decompress. I'm gonna bring her to the guild once I get her to 70 I think :)
